Xbox One no longer powers on/off my TV/Cable Box/Receiver when turned on/off

I have my Xbox One connected to an audio receiver, cable box and TV. All 3 of these were recognized and would turn on/off with the xbox using voice commands. I did a hard reset last week as I do from time to time, and that function has not worked since.
It still says my devices are recognized. I tried removing them and adding them again, but the Xbox will not recognize anything anymore. The MUTE and power testing cannot find my devices.

I am not sure what to do here. I have reset the console numerous times. The voice commands still work, but they only turn on/off the console itself. Does anyone have any idea what might be going wrong? And if so, how to fix this?

    Thank you.

    :)

Comcast Cable TV works fine except no local channels and wont turn TV or AV Receiver off

I have successfully and easily connected my XBOX One to my AV receiver and cable box. All seems to be working fine except for two things.

    1) The local channels which I can get through the Cable Box do not show up in the One Guide

    2) When the XBOX One is turned on it also turns on the TV and AV receiver, However when the XBOX One is turned off it does not turn the TV or AV receiver offer.

    Any thoughts?

xbox one stops allowing me to watch tv

I have a Day One console. And I have been watching tv as well as playing games since day one. However, my xbox one no longer sees my cable box. I plugged the box directly into my tv to make sure it was still functioning and was successful right away. I was
even able to turn my tv(Vizio) and cable box(Mototola) on and off by just turning my xbox on and off. Last night, at about 1:30am PST when I turned my xbox off my tv and cable box stayed on. Now my xbox doesn't work as a tv function. Microsoft, please help

How are you having the Xbox One "communicate" with your devices? Are you using a Kinect or an IR emitter?

Either way, an IR signal is sent from the Xbox to the device. I would first be sure that nothing is blocking the Kinect/IR-emitter between the other devices.

Also ensure that in the "Device Power Options" settings (Settings-->TV & OneGuide-->Device Control-->Device Power Options [under Power]), make sure your Xbox is set to send a signal. It should be set to "Toggle" instead of "Nothing".

I am using a Kinect. My power settings are set up to send a signal but it still does not work.

What do you mean by "blocking the kinect between other devices?" I just have it plugged into the back of the console and mounted on top of my TV. What would be blocking the signal?

    Thank you.

Hi, it's worth having a look through this link.

If your Xbox is using the preview software and you have Cortana enabled try turning that off to revert to the regular commands to see if that helps any.

I unplugged my kinect and plugged it back in. It works fine now. Sometimes the easiest solution is actually the easiest solution. Thanks to all for responding.

Marantz SR7000: One sends double power toggle during power off

Is the power to the receiver controlled by the TV or Cable box at all? Before you had the one, did the receiver turn on/off when the other devices were turned on?

    Xbox One IR Blaster commands

    Hi there,

I too am interested in this: the XB1 should send discrete power On and Off commands, not simply power toggle. What's the latest news on this issue?

Also, I have a few suggestions for the Xbox One Developers/Team:

    1) Assuming XB1 is in Instant-On mode, saying "Xbox On" should turn on the console only. Saying "Xbox Everything On" or "Xbox All On" should turn on everything (XB1 console, TV, cable/set-top box, A/V receiver, etc.). Similarly for Off.

    2) Using the controller, pressing the Xbox button (or holding the Xbox button for a short time--e.g., 1 sec) should turn on XB1 console only. Holding the Xbox button for a longer time (e.g., 3 secs) should cause everything to turn on (e.g., XB1 console,
TV, cable/set-top box, AVR, etc.). When holding the Xbox button to turn off, there should be three options: turn off console, turn off controller, or turn everything off (e.g., console, TV, box, AVR, controller, etc.)

    3) Perhaps, there should also be separate commands for turning on or off each individual device. For example "Xbox TV turn on" and "Xbox TV turn off"; "Xbox Cable Box turn on" and "Xbox Cable Box turn off"; "Xbox, AVR turn on" and "Xbox, AVR turn off", etc.

    Thanks for reading!
