    Xbox One no longer controls TV/Reciever


    Since the latest update my xbox one no longer controls my TV/receiver. I mainly want my xbox one to turn on the tv and receiver so I only have to power up one device. It use to work until I got the latest update that added cortana. When I go to Setting-TV&OneGuide-Device
    Control-Device Power Options Under when Xbox turns on, Sendthe only option is nothing. When I reset my tv setting and try to add my TV or receiver again thru the guide me process It gives me the message:

    We can't tell what "device" you have. None of the commands worked.Make sure nothing is blocking your kinect.

    My kinect is not blocked. I even moved it right infant of the receiver and tried it again same response.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Connecting My Dish Network reciever to Xbox One console...

    Do I need to use a seperate HDMI cable to get Xbox One to control my TV / Dish Network reciever???

    Universal Remote for XB1, Samsung TV, Virgin Media (TiVO) Bose Solo Soundbar & Apple TV??

    sure it won't control all your consoles lol. but it will control your roku, xbox, tv, and sound system. I have a bose soundbar, direcTV reciever, samsung TV, and xbox and it controls all 4 of them with ease from my cell and via voice commands

    Need help with Xbox One/Cable Box/TV/Receiver/2.1 Speaker Setup

    You will need the hdmi cable from your cable box going to the in hdmi on the Xbox one, if your dennon reciever supports hdmi, then take the out of the Xbox into the reciever and then out of the reciever to the tv.

    If it doesn't support hdmi then take the hdmi out of the Xbox to the tv, then take a toslink aka spdif cable out of the tv to an input on the reciever.

    Theres also a new Xbox One Smartglass BETA app (it's a seperate app with Beta at the end)... has losts of improvements for the TV functionality.

    All lot of the UK TV stuff got added recently (to the same level as our US friends), I've just finished setting my reciever. Really is amazing if you haven't tried it, genuinelly no longer need TV or Set top box remotes.
