  1. Xbox One no longer controls TV or DVR

Alright, I have been banging my head against the wall on this one. For at least a month using the Xbox On and Xbox Turn Off commands worked perfectly turning on and off my entire system. But now it stopped working. I have unplugged the Xbox One and plugged
it back in, tried the different IR settings. I know it worked so I dont think it is an issue with the placement of anything but just cannot figure it out.

Anyone out there have a fix?

    Thanks!

    :)

Can I connect Xbox One directly to a sound bar?

I have a Vizio soundbar connected to my TV. I ran the Audio Receiver Setup on the Xbox One and now the X1 powers on/off the soundbar along with my entire TV/DVR system.

As for volume control, if you've ran the Audio Receiver Setup then you can control the Soundbar via either voice commands or the Xbox One Smartglass App (the volume controls on Smartglass will no longer control the TV volume, however, as they'll become dedicated
to the soundbar--I presume the same may be me true for voice commands).

    Xbox One with Dish HOpper

If you use your Dish Hopper through the Xbox One, then the Xbox One would need to be one whenever you watch TV or DVR. If you want to use your DVR functionality, for now, you still would use your DVR remote to control this feature. The nice thing is you
could get notifications while watching your TV or DVR.

    Hi Mongo23,

I have had this happen to me, my solution was to go to Settings>TV & One Guide>Trouble Shooting>Reset TV Settings, after that, Reboot the system (total start up) With the console on, press and hold the power button on the console for 5-8 seconds until it
shuts off. Unplug the power supply, wait about 30 seconds and then plug it in and reboot. You should see the green splash screen upon reboot. It may take a minute to boot all the way to the home screen.

Once Home, go back to Settings>TV & One Guide and add your Devices back into the system.

This should solve your problem, it only takes a few minutes. Let us know how you make out!

  5. Unfortunately the same thing appears to have happened as it is not sending the commands to the receiver or the tv. Going to give it another shot in an hour or so when I have a bit more time to play with it and let you know.

    Thanks!

Same here. It's happened three time over the last week, but only once before in the weeks after Xbox One release.

A cold reboot, with unplugging the power supply, seems to be the only fix so far, though I did need to reset the devices in setting once.

IR blaster must be stopping as that would do it regardless of settings.

  7. Unplugged the system for a good 30 minutes, plugged back in and same result. It wouldnt frustrate me if it never worked but the fact that it worked so well for so long then stopped it just maddening.

This happened to me. Just hold down the Xbox button on the console until it shuts off completely. Then unplug it from the power outlet for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Power it up and it should work again. This technique is known as power cycling
and it usually fixes minor glitches like this!

  10. For anyone checking this out, I ended up ordering a new kinect, spoke with technical support and they suggested there could be an issue with the kinect. Odd but giving it a shot

@CMU- that was already suggested in the posts above- it seemed it didn't work for the OP-
