Xbox one new wireless controller with earbuds?

Hi everybody, I'm considering buying the new Xbox one controller instead of a new microphone. This is because all I really care about is hearing the people i'm talking too and being able to talk back, nothing more nothing less. I have had 3 xbox one
standard chat headsets die on me in the span of 4 months. So i was wondering if my Samsung earbuds (came with my gs6) will work with the microphone and audio in the new controller since I have a bunch of regular earbuds that don't die out on me on a monthly
basis? That would be a killer feature and I can't find anything on Google. For comparison's sake, they do work on my brother's PS4 controllers. Thanks for any input.

How to use 2 controller in the same time

I bought a xbox-one elite controller and wireless adapter for him. I also have an older wireless controller xbox 360 that I want to use it in pair with the new one, but fail to connect, i dont know if the 360 wireless controller work with xbox-one wireless
adapter. Please help me THX

I know the elite controller has a normal headphone jack that you can plug your Samsung headphones into don't think a normal controller does though

new controllers use a 3mm jack. so id say yes it will work. they also update wirelessly too.

Yes, the halo controller has a headphone jack as well though my day 1 doesn't. I think MS thought we'd use the kinect as a mic back then

generally earbuds will only have party audio since that can be picked up from the controller connection. I havent seen a pair of earbuds (maybe the turtlebeach battlebuds but unsure) play game audio, i think for that you either need a bluetooth wireless
gaming headset or a headset made for xbox to pick up game audio

Any earbuds should work with an Xbox One controller. The quality might not be the best. I have a pair of Skullcandy earbuds that I've had for a few years that still work and sound great.
