Discus and support Xbox One New Controller in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have a question about the new controller and that is does it still require the stereo adapter for voice chat?     I have a question about the new controller and that is does it still require the stereo adapter for voice chat? I just got an Xbox One Fallout Bundle from Walmart for my birthday on Saturday and I tried communicating with my friend via party chat and I could
    hear him but he couldn't hear me. I was using the headset that came with the Xbox One. Is it that I need the adapter or is it possible the mic on the headset is just defective?

    try assigning the controller to the user with the headset plugged in (assuming its the controller has a 3.5mm jack)

    I have just tried your suggestions (College Finals week, Xbox One wasn't with me). I know I updated it before and it seemed the controller was assigned already to my account but I reassigned to it. none worked but i figured out it was the headset because
    I tried another one and it works

    New consoles are all about new everything: New UI, new controller, new console. Even though the Xbox One controller is perfect, it'll be exciting to have a new one

    Hi teno1878, the controllers are a completely new design on the Xbox One and your rechargeable pack won't fit on the new controllers. The packs/battery compartment on the Xbox One controllers are flush with the controller and don't pop out. Also shaped horizontally.
