    Xbox One needs to be started twice before booting.


    When I first press my controller or the button on the machine the light on the front of the Xbox flashes for awhile and then everything goes dark. I then press for power on again and the system starts up into my home screen. Has anybody else experienced this and is there a fix?

    So I guess the question then is do I need a membership for Live in order to successfully reset my console without losing anything?

    No need for an Xbox Live membership, you just need to play online for your progress to be saved on cloud.

    My Xplornet internet has way too long of a delay to bother attempting online gaming, therefore I do not have an Xbox live membership. Thus I am assuming that a reset would lose everything I've obtained so far?

    If you will play an online multiplayer game you will be needing an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
