I have done the power cycle. Still no good?? Very frustrating!!

Hello, do you already performed a console power cycle? this will fix most of the times this kind of issues, here are the instructions in the following link:

I have tried even the compatible xbox headset and still doesnt work?? (Friends headset)

Thank you for reaching out. I understand you are having difficult time with your son's headset. It seems the console is not recognizing it while it is plugged in. As long as you are connected to the internet, a reset will not cause him to lose his progress
but let's hold off on pulling that trigger. This particular issue can be very frustrating since there are so many things that could be causing it. The most common one, is a pending firmware update on your controller which you can get out of the way by following
our
Controller Update article. We also have a page for
broad headset troubleshooting, you may want to take a look at that in case you missed a step. I truly hope this helps!

I have seen this same problem a lot on these forums. Right now, this is an issue people have had for years.

The only real workaround is to use an Xbox one headset adaptor. Example
here:
