  1. Xbox One Multiplayer Connectivity Issue?

    Hello, All!

Basically, I've been having trouble connecting my Xbox One to multiplayer servers. I allegedly get both internet and Xbox Live, but I can't play online games. I even watched the latest US presidential election live on the Xbox via the Youtube app.

Let me give the run-down of what I already tried:

    • Restarting the Xbox
    • Restarting the router/modem
    • Trying multiple different games (from different companies) to make sure issues weren't just with the game server
At this point, I talked with my internet service provider, where they:

    • double-checked the settings
    • sent a technician whom replaced the modem/router with a new one
This didn't solve the problem, however, so they told me to talk with Microsoft. I then got on the phone with a nice Microsoft employee, and together we tried:

    • Clearing the MAC address (whatever that means)
    • Trying the games on different accounts
    • Deleting my Xbox Live account and getting a new one
    • Restarting everything
    • Soft factory reset of the Xbox One
He recommended that I get my ISP to open some "ports" on the network. I feel like we did some more stuff (we were on the phone for ~4 hours), but I may have forgotten something.

    • I then called my ISP and had them open the ports.
    • At this point, after it still didn't work, I brought the Xbox to my girlfriend's parents' house, and we tried the connection on their wifi, and it worked like a dream.
    • We brought the Xbox back, but it still didn't work on our wifi. We connected it to a mobile hotspot, and it worked just fine (so not a problem with the set-up).
I called my ISP back, and we:

    • upgraded our service to 200 Mb/s service
    • wired the connection straight from the router/modem to the Xbox.
This worked for about a day. When it failed again, we called them back. They undid the "port forwarding" that we'd done earlier, and it worked again... for two days. This time I ran some speed tests, and the speed would start high, then take a nosedive.
I got the ISP to send a technician to check it out. He:

    • Changed the modem/router (twice, actually. The first had a malfunction.)
    • Tested all the connections
    • Removed all the firewalls from the modem/router
    • Opened part of the wall to add a new tip to the line run through the wall to make sure it wasn't a hardware issue
None of that worked... As a last-ditch effort, he's coming back tomorrow to change some "cards" or something at the building.

I know this is a long, highly-specific problem, but does anyone have any ideas? Any help is welcome... I just want to play the FIFA 17 game my girlfriend bought me! Xbox One Multiplayer Connectivity Issue? :(

    :)
