Xbox One Movies Rental Sucks - No Translation Captions

I just rented Sicario on my Xbox One, great movie, bad Xbox One experience. The Xbox One movie platform does not show the translation subtitle captions when they are speaking Spanish. I can turn on the subtitles and they display fine for the English speech,
but when they speak Spanish it just says "Speaking Spanish". It totally ruined great scenes as they would switch from English to Spanish so I had no idea what the hell they were saying. Needless to say I will never rent another movie on my Xbox One, or any
Microsoft platform in the future.

Movie Rentals on Xbox One is epic fail... Thumbs Down...

How do I turn off subtitles so they stay OFF!?!?

netflix app doing the same again - no matter NETFLIX account settings or xbox settng (closed caption) or even toggling it in movie - I *always* get subtitles. Annoying! argh!

There was a discussion on another thread regarding rentals. Using a DRM system makes rentals a very easy system to implement, I used Apple as an example. With Apple, you can rent a movie, which is downloaded to your Apple TV/iTunes etc. Once you start watching the movie it will automatically delete after 48 hours.

If you translate that the MS's system, you could either download a game or install it from a Blockbuster disc, it has to be registered regardless. With the 24 hour checks it would then be easy for the system to delete the game after, say, 7 days.

Of course I don't know if this is how it would work, but Apple's model would work on the info we know at the moment.Click to expand...

That's basically how Xbox Movie rentals work now. I really wouldn't be surprised if MS start their own rental service.

Unfortunately not all movies in the Microsoft Movie and TV app are in Spanish. When you open the store you should be able to see the language options before purchase. This one in particular shows to only be in English. If you would like more language options,
and features added I would suggest going to the Feedback Site here, and submitting a new idea, or finding one close to yours and then up-voting it.

Oh I definitely did! They are working on finding a solution, but suggested I post the issue on here in the meantime.

Thanks for reaching out to us and keeping us updated! I am thinking this may actually be by design because some shows have done this to me as well. I would recommend trying to change the subtitles while the movie is playing if you haven't already. Does it
show the language there to select from?
