Just got an Xbox one and I'm having a "moderate" NAT issue. I have a netgear r7500 and a zhone modem/router. Both have dchp turned on and I also have a Xbox 360 which I don't have a NAT issue and the settings on the gateway and router are the same. Here
is what I've tried so far

    1. Power cycled Xbox one

    2. Restarted modem and router

    3. Opened all Xbox live ports on zhone gateway

    4. Turned upnp on and off on router and gateway.

Can anyone help me,as this is really frustrating me.

    :)

does ethernet xbox one download faster?

and I were actually talking about this the other day.

In both of our situations, our NAT is moderate via wifi, but open via ethernet cable.

You own both a gateway and router?

Does your gateway have it's own DHCP server?

You mention using UPnP on both the gateway and router which suggest to me you may be behind a double NAT. double NATs are bad and will cause issues.

You need to make sure your gateway is in bridge mode so that it acts as a modem only.

One way to check this is to log in to your router and check the WAN settings to make sure you have a public IP address.

Just re-read your post. You said you have DHCP turned on in the gateway as well as the router so this means you are behind a double NAT.

You must turn off DHCP in the gateway if you are going to use a separate router

Yes. The gateway should be in bridge mode meaning it's acting only as a modem.

When I turned off the dchp server on the gateway lost the internet connection to the router.

  9. what am I reading lmao, you need to put the GATEWAY into bridgemode. the Nighthawk upper band works off AC Band which doesn't play well with xbox one, consider forcing it to N only as well. good luck and use the forums.xbox.com/.../default.aspx
info provided here for referencing. Also recommend calling your ISP to have them put the Gateway into Bridge so you don't mess anything up like it sounds like your on the track to doing. best of luck.

    Hey Bulls3y3Bobby,

    It sounds like you have a similar setup to the one I posted about here;

    forums.xbox.com/.../1880982.aspx

Try the steps listed in that thread and see if that opens up your NAT for you! Xbox one moderate nat :)

    Best of luck!

    Greetings Bulls!

The only, and foremost, proper way to make sure your console can traverse with seamless connectivity to Xbox Live, would be to configure your Zhone gateway to be operating in bridge mode. What you've tried up until now are not susceptible in a way that your
devices get translated and traverse to Xbox Live, or to the Internet-at-large.

I would recommend what UltraGunner suggested; reach out to your ISP and have them know that you're using an additional router, and ask them for help, how to bridge your gateway properly.

If you have any concerns regarding your Netgear router, please let us know.

Post back and let us know how that goes.

  12. Doing that turned it to moderate and when it's not in bridge mode it's "open"

    Then you're doing something wrong.

Just to clarify, did you configured your gateway to be operating in bridge mode, or your ISP?

Can you also make sure that your console's Power mode is set to energy-saving Power mode, and not Instant-on.

  14. I put it in bridge mode myself and it was in instant on mode.

Can you describe in detail how you've configured bridge mode.
