Xbox One MINECRAFT MEET UP 2.0

It's Friday 5th September the day the game releases for Minecraft. I just finished downloading the game and played it in survival easy got a couple of achievements. What is everyone's experience so far with this game? I'm uploading my first video to Youtube
will be up in about an hour or two it's less than 15 minutes long. Will play over the weekend and perhaps on a daily bases but I will play on my Xbox 360 console. It would be great if we can get an organized forum world someone could host it or take turns
hosting one. Anyone who is nice and likes Minecraft is welcome to friend/follow me just make sure to send me a message so it doesn't get blocked/deleted, saying "Minecraft". The game costs only NZ$7.45 because I have had the 360 version since a month after
it came out for 360.

One of things I noticed is it only took about 10 seconds to load a large survival easy world and that's a world like 36x bigger than any Xbox 360 version world. The game is also 1080p 60fps. So anyone else want to share their experiences to share with the
Xbox One version?

is it going to be the same as minecraft 2.0 or is it minecraft 1.0 + updates for the xbox one

I'm enjoying it so far, but no more than any other version of Minecraft. In a way, I'm actually kind of upset. It's a great game to be fair, but I thought there'd be something brand new added to the game. Aside from the additional achievements, smoother
gameplay, larger worlds, and longer draw-distances, there's nothing different at all from the Xbox 360 edition. I don't know but maybe I set my expectations too high (I was hoping for a near PC edition build).

Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to play the heck out of it - I already lost 3 hours to it this past evening. If I can ever manage to go to sleep, I'll be transferring my initial world from the 360 that I spent months on over to the One so you can all
see it. There's a lot, though, so if you want the full tour, you'll need to clear an hour from your schedule - but I guarantee you that it'd be worth it. If you have even more time, you're more than welcome to add to it if you'd like (following certain server-side
rules, of course).

Strangely enough though, during my experience this evening, I held an open online game and although I had at least 4+ people playing the game, not a single 1 jumped into my current world. It made the whole ordeal quite lonely. Although, I suppose it was
mostly my fault as I didn't joint their world's either.

As for the additional achievements, I like having them, but for the most part, they're really easy to get - especially if you've played Minecraft in the past. Over the course of an hour, I must've unlocked 10 or so achievements, easily adding ~100 points
to my gamerscore.

I am interested in hearing what everyone else thinks of the game so far though, so have at it!

 

I only played a very little this evening. Might play some more later tonight or tomorrow and have Sunday completely free. It's the first thing I did when I got home. Usually I immediately check who's online. I decided to put it on Invite Only and only about
15 max of my friends have an Xbox 1 half of those don't play Minecraft. I even printed... out the full achievements for the game from this site. But I know the game has achievements from the 360 version so rushed through getting the ones I could in about 6
minutes gameplay. I flew through about 8 or so achievements so fast the Dashboard had a bit of a struggle keeping up with bringing up the Achievement notification. But all is good.

If anyone else has something to discuss/say, it can be anything, news, play dates, etc, for the Xbox 1 version of Minecraft, please feel free to post. Thanks Geek for posting here.

 

I'm relatively new to the game, but... I get that the world is 30 sumthin times bigger but I can travel beyond my map and it doesn't update on the map. Am I noob n need to forge a new map?..

 

I've never played it. I'm curious though, when you meet up, what do you do? Just like show each other what you've built? Just walk around and talk?

 

About 5 or 6 out of the 15 of my friends who have an Xbox 1, have played Minecraft Xbox 1 in the last 24 hours. I was just looking through the feeds list. You can build a mini game, build stuff, play on survival, or just hang out. Post news of your experience
or anything to do with the game.

I'm not completely sure about the large map mode and the map you're given at the start either. I found a seed off youtube which I really like. It's flat where as the first map I started on was mainly jungle and snow and lots of hills.

Been playing on survival. I might give creative mode a turn on Sunday. I created a precious survival legit only world no creative no host privileges, the year the 360 version came out, and want to do the same for the Xbox 1 version. I won't be transferring
worlds between X360 and X1. Just to let anyone know I'm only using the Xbox 1 Kinect for voice chat at this stage. I'm not going to get a chat adaptor for my turtle beach x42 or the headset which came with my console. I like the background music in the game
especially the new tracks which I've never heard in the 360 version. It looks like they'll extend the multiplayer cap in a future update. When you hit the small 2 window button on your controller in game, the mic symbol is rather large next to your GT but
that's ok. It's not my mic connected it's the Kinect I only use my turtle beach for game sound. However on 360, I use my headset as I don't have an Xbox 360 Kinect.

Oh boy am I glad MineCraft is here. I did nothing but dig yesterday... Albeit was boring to just dig. I have already found plenty of diamond and ore. And I have already found a monster spawned! Woot.

I was trying to stream MC with no luck.

 

I found Minecraft Xbox One colossally dull. The colours are wrong and greyish, and I was under the impression that Xbox 360 worlds transferred over would generate additional terrain to continue past the currently set boundaries. But no. The 800 odd blocks
by 800 odd blocks limit is still in place for worlds transferred over. This effectively killed the game for me. Not to mention no new features or anything!

EDIT: It also has a framepacing issue because the game is running over 60fps, so it judders badly. Not a fan of that either.

 

hmm I thought it ran quite smooth. Kinda hard to tell In a dark tunnel though

 

Just to answer the question about the in game map, the map you start with will only have a small portion of the world you will need to make more maps and make a map wall to see how big the world actually is, similar to the PC version

 

Great tip! I would have never figures out the map thing.

 

I wouldn't know - I lost my map very quickly.
