XBOX One - Minecraft (bedrock edition) - Lost a world yesterday

    Hi,

I'm unsure where to for support of Minecraft bedrock edition on the XBOX One. I've created a support ticket with Mojong and I've postted in their support forums too. But their support forums directed me back to xbox live support. Xbox live support sends
me back to the game publisher. So I don't know how to seek help to this problem...

Me and my friend had been working on a world hosted from my xbox one for about a month.

We had built a sky bridge with rails and powered rails that spans from one land mass to another across a sea/ocean. The bridge was about 5 or six blocks below cloud level and went on for 1000+ minecraft miles.
Last night I was traversing the sky bridge while mounted on a horse in a minecart. It was nighttime in the world and I was in 3rd person while beholding the beauty of the creation. The view went on extremely far to the horizon in all directions.

It takes a few minutes, even by cart, to traverse this long sky bridge. As i was travelling in the cart the game started to lag and had trouble drawing the terrain. Eventually it stopped drawing the landscape
and terrain all together and there was just sky with stars. I could still hear sounds of the rails like I was moving but nothing was being drawn except for my character on the horse in a minecart. I could move my character around in the cart to change the
view, but could not see anything except my character, horse, minecart and black sky with stars (I don't remember if I saw a moon or not).

I told my friend what was happening and he said it was looking fine for him from his xbox (I was hosting the game from my xbox). We agreed that I would save and exit the game, hardreset, then relaunch the game
    and load the world.

After the reboot and clicking PLAY from the Minecraft main menu, it did not list the world. Even after the "syncing" pop up, I had no worlds listed. I only had one world previously and it was gone. I did notice
though that a big Red Dead Redemption 2 Update (over 5GB) was occuring at the exact same time the world crashed and was lost. I think these are linked as they both share the same external storage drive and was possible colliding for HDD reads/writes perhaps,
    I'm just guessing.

DId my minecraft world become corrupted somehow? Shouldn't it be able to resync from xbox live servers? Here is what I've tried so far but still not seeing my world.

    - I've tried deleting my locally saved data from my xbox one (just locally, not "everwhere", meaning it should still be on xbox live servers). Hard reset. Restarted game and still no world synced.

    - I tried uninstalling the game and all saved data. Hard reset. Reinstalled game and still no world synced. Also my character has reverted back to default steve in default clothing.

Any ideas? Is my lost world anyway recoverable. We've spent about a month or more on it. Doesn't sound like alot, but that sky bridge took forever to make and to gather the rails and power rails, etc. Building
maps, enchantments, etc... all seems lost now.

Honestly me and my friend hate to invest alot of time in a new world again until they can reassure usthis won't happen again or at least explain why it did happen so I can avoid the situation that caused it.

Can we get this world back? Any help or suggestions is appreciated. Thanks!

    :)

  2. Cloud Saved Games not working on xBox One

So I think this page lays out what you need.

The problem is that you can't transfer a world directly from Xbox 360 Minecraft to the latest Bedrock edition of Minecraft. You need to transfer it through the Minecraft: Xbox One edition first.

    The
    details are laid out here

Basically you'll go from Minecraft: 360 Edition > Minecraft: Xbox One Edition > Minecraft (bedrock)

Let us know if you have problems or questions.

Transfering Minecraft Xbox 360 to Xbox One X won't work

Together with Mojang support I found out the problem why I do not manage to import my saved worlds on my Xbox One X in the online purchased version of Minecraft.

The Minecraft Xbox One version that you can buy online in the Microsoft store is a different version than the Minecraft Xbox One version you buy in the store (DVD). The online version is the so-called Minecraft (bedrock code base on xbox one) version.

To import the saved worlds, you first need to export the worlds on the Xbox 360 Minecraft version, import them into the Minecraft Xbox One Edtion import and then import old worlds into the Minecraft bedrock codebase version. (Minecraft Xbox 360 -> Minecraft
Xbox One Edtion -> Minecraft Xbox bedrock codebase).

You end up with a version that you do not use, but you can then sell it via e-bay to fellow gamers who have the same problem. XBOX One - Minecraft (bedrock edition) - Lost a world yesterday :)

So it is possible and fortunately not as Microsoft indicated earlier that the worlds would be lost.

    Hi Benny,

I understand losing a world you've worked on can be frustrating. I'd be happy to try and help.

    I noticed you haven't tried a
    soft factory reset
. I believe it will be good to give it a try and restore the console's operating system. Make sure you have your account information available as you will need to re-download them during set up.

Give a factory reset a try and let us know if it helped!

Hi thank you. I will try that. I'll try reset but keep games and apps first to see if that fixes my problem. Then I'll try more aggressive reset to factory.

if that doesn't work I'll just accept that the minecraft world is gone. I chatted with support 30 minutes ago and they say I probably had a corrupted file that synced to live and that is why I can't get my game world back because the saved data sync as
    corrupted data.

But this reset to factory may clear out something that was keeping me from getting my game world. I'll give it a shot.

    Thanks!

    Hi Benny!

Yes, definitely give it a shot! A factory reset can potentially clear out any corrupted data or technical issue that could have either corrupted your saved data or corrupted the operating system. Everything should sync from the Xbox Live Cloud and if you
have to perform the full factory reset you can re-install your owned digital games after you re-add your profile.

We'll be looking forward to hearing from you!

    Minecarft Random World deletion

Are you talking about a Minecraft world? Also, what version [Xbox one(the old one) or bedrock (the latest one with cross platform)]?. Usually if you're connected to Xbox live, all worlds sync up to the cloud, if you're playing on Minecraft Bedrock edition,
when you click play, there should be an option at the bottom to sync old worlds.
