XBOX ONE Microsoft Headset Shocked me (zapped me)

The Official MS headset that I purchased has literally SHOCKED me in my ears....twice it zapped me. I feel this is a huge safety concern and I contacted XBOX support. They basically said they could do nothing but give me a new headset. I've already replaced
it once, so this is my second headset. I don't feel comfortable trying a third time to get my ears zapped. I asked if I could just get an adapter since they are sold out everywhere and they said no. The XBOX support and quality control is a joke.

First headset I bought had a big cut (gouge) in the side of it....right from the factory. That is disgusting that it would leave the factory like that. I understand issues happen on a production line. However, then it shocks me. I then have to go back
to Best Buy, return the item, get a new one and I have the same issue when it shocks me. Does Microsoft not ground these headsets properly? I'm annoyed with the whole XBOX world at this point.

Customer Service basically said "sorry", not much we can do. She told me to just return it to the store. Now, I don't have a headset to use since no stores have that adapter.

Glad Microsoft doesn't care too much about loyal customers getting hurt by their products.

    :)

  2. XBox One Wireless controller zapped me!

My husband was shutting the console down and as the system was shutting off the controller zapped him - twice! First, he had one finger on either side of the charging port (the cord was not in the controller at the time.) and Second, when he felt the elctrical
zap he changed hands and was holding the controller by the side hand grip and it shocked him in that hand! Please advise! Has anyone else been zapped or shocked by their wireless controller??

The xbox one controller uses AA batteries and has a nominal voltage of about 1.5V x 2, that means 3V all in all. That amperage is not enough to shock an adult person even if you have stripped the controller of it's components (and you shouldn't do that by
    the way).

Anyhow if you think you have a faulty accessory in your hands you can ask for a replacement. If you purchased the Microsoft Xbox accessory within the last 30 days, you can return it to the retailer with your original proof of purchase. If you purchased the
accessory more than 30 days ago but within the accessory warranty period, you can order a replacement accessory from the Xbox Online Service Center (console registration is required)

Make sure you click Replace an Accessory instead of Request Service. Follow the on-screen prompts to place an order.

No one else has been shocked by these? What are the odds it happens to me twice? I think a poor grounding scheme on the cans is the issue. No customer service though.

    SAFETY ISSUE!!!!!!

Sorry but no, it's not "static electricity". My husband works with, trouble shoots, and fixes electronic components for a living and is well educated in these types of eletronic components. It is entirely possible that this particular cotroller is not
interally grounded properly. It also has difficulty in charging as well, which further indicates an issue in the electrical supply conversion mechanism within the controller. So, yes it is entirely possible that it discharged while shutting down and gave
off enough of a discharge to be felt.

It is the controller that came with the console. Yes, we use a play & charge but it was not connected at the time.

What you are experiencing is called static electricity and has nothing to do with the controller, the same issue would had happened with any object that spends time in someone's hands.

By default the controller can't produce that kind of jolt as to zap someone's hand the energy produced by the batteries isn't as powerful as to do that. Static electricity happens when a certain surface is stroked and therefore charged (a simple experiment
is to stroke your comb with a wool cloth and hold it over pieces of paper; the static electricity causes the pieces of paper to cling at the comb)

This issue goes away with time yet in particular cases of hyper sensitivity a pair of rubber based gloves its advisable.
