    update

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.

I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.
Hope you're doing great today despite this Jack

Just as a friendly reminder, these are the Xbox forums, not the Windows forums.
But I can assist you based on my knowledge

When you sign in locally in Edge (without an account) if you don't backup the keychain (passwords, emails, etc) if you delete the browser or wipe the data. All that information is going to be deleted automatically.

This happens with all the systems (Windows, macOS, any Linux distribution) if you want to have your data saved everywhere is necessary to link an account.

    This applies:

To all the browsers, for Safari you need an AppleID, Chrome a Google Account, Firefox a Firefox account, etc.
    For Edge, a Microsoft account.

To the search engine, you can select and change the default. For Edge is Bing, For Google Chrome is Google, but there are some browsers that use Yahoo search, DuckDuckGo, etc

You have the choice to change the default search engine.

    It's stated here:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-e....

Hope everything is more clear now, but if you have further questions don't hesitate to ask
    Greetings

I'm trying to Stream my PC to my Xbox one but it disconnects as soon as it connects.

    Hello Afrobungi,

Welcome to Xbox Community Forum. Thank you for sharing your concern with us today and we hope that all is well.

We understand that you are trying to stream your PC to your Xbox One and is unable to because you were trying to use Googe than Bing. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

We would like to confirm few things:

    • May we know how did you set up the streaming of your PC to Xbox One?
    • Also, are you trying to set Google as search engine and not Bing?
We previously consulted this to our Internal Support Team and here is what they suggest. On your Xbox One Console, go to Microsoft Store and search for Xbox Wireless Display app and install. Next, you will need to go to your computer's notification bar and look for Connect (see screenshot below) then look for Xbox One Console. You need to Allow Input for your Xbox Controller for the permission. Then watch and test if you can launch your favorite browser in your Xbox One.

Should you like to set Google as your default search engine, please follow the steps from this link: Change your default search engine in Microsoft Edge - Microsoft Support.

Hope that helps! Kindly let us know, if there is any misunderstanding or clarifications of our description by sending us a reply.

Xbox- syncing on Microsoft edge or IE possible with a PC?

    Hey DeeVee

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently inquiring about being able to sync your Favorites and browsing history onto the Microsoft Edge app on your console.

At this time, there is currently no way to sync your Favorites onto the Microsoft Edge app on your console from other devices.

There is, however a way to see your browsing history, but this works through your Microsoft account, and while in Bing search engine.

This works by selecting the Menu icon on the top right-hand side and selecting
    Search history.

Having this as a option would definitely be an excellent feature and I would suggest using the

    Xbox Idea Hub
so that the engineers that work might include it in the future.

I hope this was of some use to you.
    Hello,

Thanks for the response. I had a few follow-up questions that might clarify my original question.

    1) When you say:

"There is, however a way to see your browsing history, but this works through your Microsoft account, and while in Bing search engine." and "This works by selecting the Menu icon on the top right-hand side and selecting Search history."

Are you just referring to the Bing search history in these statements? That is, I am assuming you are referring to the Bing search history and not the actual Microsoft edge search history in any way, is that correct?

    2) Thank you for letting me know that there is no way to sync favorites in Microsoft Edge. Assuming you are only referring to "Bing search history" being possible to sync and not the actual Microsoft edge history being possible to sync on Xbox (this being
what i think you mean in your response and what my first question is meant to clarify), then this would mean there is no way to sync any of the settings with a Microsoft account and xbox in Microsoft edge, or are other settings able to by syncd at all?

    3) Lastly, has this inability to sync browsing history, etc., always been the case? Is it possible to sync browsing history for internet explorer instead?
