Xbox One Microphone Not Working, Please Help!

This is infuriating. A couple of weeks ago, my Xbox One microphone, the default one that comes with the Xbox, stopped working. I just couldn't hear other people or talk myself. I bought a brand new microphone. Same problem. So I exchanged that microphone
for another brand new one. Same problem. After some tinkering, I figured it was the headset port on my controller. I noticed when I pushed on the microphone extremely firmly, the headset would work. So, my $25 problem has now become a $60 problem. Whatever,
I bite the bullet and buy a new one. SAME PROBLEM. With my original headset, I can hear other people, but cannot talk. With my new headset, I can talk but cannot hear! How is that even possible?? On the old headset, the volume buttons do not make a noise when
pressed. The mute button appears to work. On the new headset, the mute button works but not the volume buttons.

Solutions I have tried:

Selecting "Choose this person" on the sign in screen.

Assigning the controller to my profile

Disconnecting Kinect

Recalibrating Kinect

Hard reset of Xbox

Unplugging Xbox and restarting Xbox

Deleting and recovering my gamertag

Checking my network settings

Checking privacy settings

Firmware updates on both controllers with each headset plugged in during update

Cleaning headset connector and controller headset port

Pressing button on top of controller to resync it

I haven't tried resetting Xbox to factory defaults. I'd really really like to not have to do that, but I'm out of all other ideas. Please, help me! Thank you.

My xbox one wired headsets microphone seemed to have stopped working, I believe its because I may have messsed up an audio setting, please help!

My sons astro headset A50 3:rd generation is not working with the microphone. Xbox one says noo micophone and we have followe all steps in installtion guide and looked att google as well and have changed the head set to a new one but nothing works. Nobody
can hear when my son are talking-but everyting else is working but not his microphone. Help please -it was so expensive this heas et and he can´t use it.

I'm having exactly the same issue here. Sometime between late September and early October (I'm on the preview program) I could no longer communicate with my friends. I could hear them, but they couldn't hear me. I was going to return the mic as it should
still be under warranty, but it seems like there may actually be nothing wrong with it in the first place.

 

I'm having the exact same problem. MS sent me a replacement console but the problem persists

 

i have figured it out with mine i couldnt get it to work then my dad tried to get it to work, the solution in to take off the silicone sleeve. works perfectly now

 

Spot on!! After all the trial and error who would have known it was the silicone sleeve?!

 

Where is the silicone sleeve? ^

 

Having the same problem. Which part of the headset is the silicone sleeve on?
