Xbox one - microphone icon always muted

Discus and support Xbox one - microphone icon always muted in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Yesterday the headset/Microphone stopped working.     Xbox one - microphone icon always muted


    Yesterday the headset/Microphone stopped working. There is new microphone icon which shows it as muted. Cannot find a way to enable this. I have tried the suggestions on other posts with the same issue but no joy. Is this a software/update issue?
    It's very frustrating. The xbox is only a month old. Thanks for any help.

    I notice the same issues happen to me only when I am using a wireless headset once I plug a cord one the mute icon goes away.

    I had that problem with my wireless headphones. I stopped to see what I was doing different from last time they were working and then realize that I plugged the usb cable from the receptor to the tv instead of the Xbox. So I reconnected the usb cable from
    the receptor directly into the Xbox and it started to work again.
