Xbox one mic stopped working

This problem just started happening for me last week. I figured my headset was broken but i have the stereo adapter too so waited until i got home after the holidays to try it. Both the Xbox One headset and the stereo adapter with both iphone headphones
and beats don't work. The only other headset i haven't tried is my PS4 wireless ones because i need to charge them but they worked fine last time i plugged them into my xbox stereo connector through aux. I've tried everything in 2 different controllers. One
with rechargeable batteries and the other normal batteries.

Called today and did everything but a factory reset and nothing. They want me to send in my Xbox which will take about 2-3 weeks! i used my xbox for hulu and netflix so this is going to be a huge pain in the ***. I do agree with other commenters, i think
its a software issue, not hardware if this many people are all of a sudden getting this.

 

Its not our nat or mics dude its your glitch please fix it microsoft

 

I'm having the same problem, one day it was working just fine, the next, nadda. I tested my controller, adapter and headset on a friend his console and there everything worked perfect. So apparantly the problem lies with the console (at least in my case)
Microsoft should patch this, seeing as it's impossible that something broke on my console, never been dropped or whatever, just standing there looking pretty. It has to be software related, first time I had this problem was on Destiny as well so, FIX IT!!!
Gaming is now practically impossible since I cannot communicate with my friends (e.g. no halo 5 beta, no more destiny raids, ... ) and I refuse to use Kinect because I can't put my tv loud enough to hear anything without my parents complaining. so again, please
fix this microsoft or bungie, idc who's fault it is, but fix it.

PS: I have done a system 'restore factory defaults' as well but alas to no avail

 

Same problem tried to talk through my head set mic (turtle beach not that pos one that came with it). Doesn't work at all. I have to use the kinect mic to talk to anyone. It is not the headset, it promise it is something with the xbox. The mic indicator
lights up when I plug it in or unplug from my controller.

 

Update...I switched over to the headset that came with the console and it worked. Not sure what is up with that. I find it hard to believe that my headset mic would just stop working. Would love some input from MS or xbox

 

Same problem. Happened to me just yesterday. Oddly enough, most everyone I have talked to has said they were playing Destiny when the issue arose. Interesting.

Same problem as everyone has mentioned. Mic shows I'm connected. I can hear others through it. If I turn volume up, it beeps. Mute light turns on. No one can hear me. Not in game chat while not being in a party. Not in party chat while ensuring I'm in party
chat not game chat. Mic logo comes up that shows my mic is plugged in. My NAT is open. This is getting to be absolutely ridiculous.
