Xbox one mic stopped working

recently I noticed that my mic just stopped working. I can hear people in game or in party chat just fine but I can't be heard. lights up if I'm muting it as well. if I plug my mic into my controller it works for about 2 seconds then cuts back off. All the
wires seems to be fine, I just don't know what the problem is. is there any way I can fix this without buying a new mic or even controller

I'm randomly getting similar issues with my Titanfall Controller randomly shutting off after the controller update and I can hear sound out of my new Xbox stereo headset with the headset adapter but nobody can hear me until I restart my Xbox

Its just problems with XBOX live not your mic, I have the new stereo headset and the original headset and both I can't hear people talking.

 

I have the same issue as does my buddy but with the added effect of our 'Mute' buttons not lighting at all. in the party it says are mics should be working but nothing comes out. We hear others just fine in the party as well as in reg game chat if we switch.

 

Also we've tried the typical standards answers to anything you ask help with.

We've done multiple hardresets, cleaned each connection point, checked firm connections of cables and puck and have updated the latest controller firmware and have fresh batteries.

 

Yeah probably just have to buy a new mic... Also a new controller because mine always drifts up

 

i have the same issue, is your NAT open? and does it show that your mic is connected in party chat or is there no mic icon?

 

it shows me as having a mic and it's plugged in, I just can't talk over the mic. But i can hear everything/one like before.

 

***, nobody can answer this, probably because everyone knows headsets from Microsoft are cheap and crappy.

Usually always break within 5 months anyways.

I'm having the same issue. Every since the Destiny update, I can only talk to people via the Kinect. I have tried buying a new controller, buying a new headset, updating everything. I have even wiped my Xbox as MS told me to do and it still doesn't work.
Pretty annoying!

I am having the same issue as well. I am using the Xbox One chat headset. I can hear through the headset perfectly well. But my voice cannot be heard - not in party chat and not in game chat either. Nothing lights up when I speak. I have gone through all
of the steps outlined above. But I am hesitant to buy a new headset only to find that it still does not work because of a software issue from a recent update.

 

What I also find interesting is that when I turn the controller off, and remain in the party, the light next to my name will activate when I speak into the mic while the controller is off.

I have also had success using the mic when I run an app - such as TV, but then the mic will stop working upon loading a game - such as Grand Theft Auto V.

I am convinced this is a software issue, especially because people above have purchased new headsets without successfully resolving the problem.

I am having this issue as well and have been for about a month or so, I have tried everything, ( I bought a new headset thinking my headset was broke and could still hear but not talk) I haven't wiped but I may try that. I have relied on the kinect but it
is awful for destiny, (seriously no volume controls). I am getting fed up with this and would like something done about this, xbox support is useless in this matter and just suggest basic things I have already done 100 times. I hope this is resolved SOON.
