Xbox one mic not working

This is a wide spread problem. I've done everything imaginable and nothing works, it's now not working on either headset, original and MS stereo headset. Noticed trying to do voice over on video as well but headset works on iPhone etc. green light activates
during attempted chats. Don't hold your breath multiple complaints and not a word from MS. Next gen and they can't even get the things that worked flawlessly on the previous system

 

GUYS I FOUND IT!!! THERES A LITTLE BUTTON ON THE TOP OF YOUR CONTROLLER THAT CONNECTS YOUR CONTROLLER TO YOUR XBOX AND YOU POINT YOUR PAD AT YOUR KINECT AND CLICK THAT TINY LITTLE BUTTON!!!! THIS WORKED FOR ME

 

Have you tried closing any other apps that could be using your microphone? I found that worked for me, other games, apps like skype and stuff like that.

 

Same issue with mic everything else works fine just the mic doesn't work. Be wary of the play and charge USB cable , I've killed 2 pads in 2 nights trying to do controller update. Even with a brand new pad the mic fails to.work *** mics

 

The problem lies within the hardware itself, the controller and headset adapter lose connection as the connecting chip in the controller works loose. I have fixed mine my several times by pushing up the slot inside the controller.

Very very poor design, and shoddy workmanship, the day one controllers whilst well designed are cheap!

 

Same issue here. I hear them just fine but my Mic is silent. MS needs to get on this.....

 

same....i tried all the BS that people have put on here about the connect and updates and all the bull but still nothing works.

 

Only been a year now. I hope they regret *** us all over by making us buy these adapters. Meanwhile Sony is swimming through the cash

 

i have the exact same problem a few weeks, i tried a different controller and thats working fine so in my opinion it must be your controller who is damaged!

My issue is that I can't hear anything from the headset. The mic's working alright and the Orange light comes on when I click the button. No sound when I click the volume up and down though and no sound from chats. It was working just yesterday and after
a night it wasn't.

 

I have this exact same issue. The mic will work for a while when playing online games then suddenly quits. I have completely shut down the console and start over on the game and then the mic will work again for a while and then quit. Very frustrating.
I talked others into buying the Xbox One and now they are having the same mic issues so now everyone is hating on the Xbox. This needs some attention on the Microsoft side or they are going to slowly bleed users to other gaming systems.

 

I held the power button until the system shut off then turned it back on and now my headset works fine

 

Guess I'm part of the club now. Tryed to play Destiny and got kicked out of my fireteam due to lack of communication. I was screaming though. Come to find out my voice was not registering through my headset. I checked all the proper settings, took the headset
back for a replacement, did a hard reset, set my network settings to open, and still no voice. I checked it through the party app and the light only blinks with the kinect and not the headset. I don't think it's the headset or controller but the system itself.

 

This has happened to me now, twice. I got the Titanfall edition Xbox One, about 2 months after I got it the headset out of no where stopped working. I could hear people through it, turn the volume up and down and hear the beeps but the microphone portion
would not pick up my voice. The Kinect would work just fine though. So after that happened I went and purchased the Microsoft issued headset adapter to use Xbox 360 headsets. It seemed to work well for a while until last night. My batteries died on the controller
and when I replaced them with new fully charged ones the headset again stopped working. I was using a Phillips telephone headset which worked on my 360 for 4 years no problem, and used it on the Xbox One with the adapter for about 3 months and it just stopped
working like the original one did. So with frustration, I got my friend to bring over his known working headset and controller, linked it up to my console and tested my microphones and adapter. None would work. I plugged his headset in my controller and it
worked. Okay so you narrow your problems down. It's not your controller, it's not your Kinect or any settings within. So I thought the adapter went bad. Well luckily I had an original Xbox 360 headset that still worked. So I plugged that in to the adapter
and it worked. So right there that tells the adapter didn't go bad. Right away I switched back to my old headsets to see if the problem was still there and to my surprise the headsets did not work. So right now I am still using my adapter with an Xbox 360
headset working fine. So I am completely baffled as to what this issue it. I do not abuse my equipment at all, it just stops working.

 

I AM SO ANGY RAWR!!! THIS STUPID MIC WON'T WORK!!! Whenever I go into a party chat I can't talk. I turn the volume up till I hear beeping I can mute the mic and the orange light will come on but I can't talk! I have held my controller up to the connect,
turned the xbox off and turn it on with the mic plugged in, Unplug the xbox one, do that thing wilth the open connection I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING AND I JUST AM SO FRUSTERATED!!! CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!
