Xbox one mic not working

Had my fourth headset die just now. can hear everyone but my MIC fails. Amazon have replaced all 3 i have sent back so far but this is ridiculous. Plugged a new one in and worked first try. Had lots of Xbox 360 headsets die but thought the XboxONE headset
would be better as they charge £20 for them now. No such luck, these are 10x worse, all my friends are using kinect in party chat now as theirs have gone also. Not impressed at all.

What you need to do (this has happened to me multiple times where the mic lights up but the audio comes out of the tv and the party cant hear me) is hit your home button and go up to the top left of the screen where it shows who is signed in. Click on that
and when your profile pops up click on "choose this person" and that should pop the audio into your headset and the mic should work.

turning off your xbox does not work haven't tried deleting profile but this is bull *** because it is brand new you shouldn't have any problems

 

I have an 2 Xbox one's in my house. Chat works fine for me (although I have had to replace one headset). My issue is while trying to play multiplayer with both consoles in the same party, the chat only goes through the Kinect. Possible networking issue?
I have no idea.

 

Okay I am replying again. No Solution other then Reset works. BTW Reset is not a Solution. the bent chip it the controller slots is a neat idea but see how i have 4 controllers now and they same problem with them all i dont think its the Controller. To Summarize.

-Headset Mic Doesn't Work (NOT KINECT MIC..works fine)

-Hard Reset makes it work (Reset involving holding the Xbox button on the console down for 15 secs. or unplugging the console)

-Controller power cycle doesn't work

-Charging the controller doesn't work

-Using a different Controller doesn't Work (not a controller problem)

-Problem occurs in party and out of party so not a party problem

-Problem Occurs even with Open NAT not a network problem

-Worsened with recent update seems to be confirmed

-Microsoft could carless also seems to be confirmed

 

I'm with you ChefJake,

This entire Xbox one experience has been complete and utter rubish. The chat problems are just the icing on the cake for me to sell this and switch platforms. It's completely ruined.

 

I have the same problem. Microsoft please give a solution.

Reebot dont work, changing bateries dont work, NAT: Open,

 

Just unplug your kinect and reboot your xbox One

 

So I bought the £20.00 adapter for my old Turtle Beaches cos I was sick of the problem- worked fine for a few weeks, but guess what? Yep, they've stopped working for chat! Game sounds no problem, but no mic capability.... pretty sick of this. Rebooted,
changed battery's yep the lot.

How hard can it be to get the basics right Microsoft?

 

So I have this problem too. It starts out so can hear everything just fine but everyone else hears static but can st. Since this was happening I muted my mic to not bug them. When I tried unmuting it to say something real quick, it wouldn't pick up my voice
at all. I could still hear everyone just fine. Every time I have tried to use my mic this is what happens. Static and then not picking up anything after being on mute. And I can say with 100% certainty that the issue is NOT the Kinect since I own the console
that doesn't have one.

I'm not sure if its my headset or my controller but I don't want to pay to send it for replacement and not fix the problem

 

Me and my friends have this problem every now and again we tend to go to the sign in (even if we are already signed in) and then re signinto our account it works most of the time.

 

My Mic plays sound to me, but I can't talk to anyone else except when i use Kinect. I'm able to mute and unmute with the orange light coming up, and hear the beep, but nothing really happens. I noticed it one day when i tried to do a voice over on a video
and I could not register sound. I tried unplugging my mic and recording but when i hit start recording voice it says, "No Mic detected." So I plug it in and then it'll start but I still can't input any audio because my mic won't work.

If you log in through kinect scan then you should go to the top right corner of the home screen and click your profile picture. Then hit the account you want and hit "choose this person" that might help

 

I just started having chat headset problems in game since the June update. At first I would just unplug and plug back in figuring I did something wrong. But now I plug the wired chat headset in and I don't get the speaker image or the voice anime at all.
I get the orange light saying it knows when I mute (and unmute), I get the feedback beep when I increase or decrease volume but no sound comes through or goes out (in game). Game voices are coming through the kinect loud and clear.

I have a day one xbox, two day one controllers with 2 day one chat headsets & a Titanfall controller. Issue is across the board with all my equipment.

 

Ah! So I needed to go to "settings" and select "controller update", plug in each controller and update them. I noticed the directions for the stereo headset which has an adapter I did not and that threw me off. Now they work fine!
