Xbox one mic Killing my controller

I have had my X1 for a month now, no problem whatsoever until yesterday. My friend invited me to a party and when I joined I couldn't hear him, I know it's just that party glitch so I unplug my headset blah blah blah, I talked to him for a min but then
my controller died. I put new batteries in but it still wouldn't turn on. I had to remove the headset in order for it to work. Every time I plug it into the controller, it shuts off. I've tried with 8 different brand new batteries and I've tried unplugging
kinect. Nothing works so if you know what's up please help a brother out

Xbox One not Connecting to External Devices

My controller is connecting, but my mic isn't. my mic is a standard Xbox One mic.

 

Need help with xbox

My mic wont work on my xbox one controller it works on my ipad by sound and stuff but on my controller i cant talk or listen to people in my party and the mic picture next to your controller battery picture on the top right says my mic wont work.

 

thats the same as me, the controller turns off for like a second, turns back on then my mic chat doesnt work but i can hear everyone else.. i unplug it, plug it back in x3-8 and then it starts to work again until my controller turns off randomly again..
soooo annoying.

 

Have you tried updating the controller firmware? You do need a Micro A USB cable to do so. You could also see if the controller works when it is directly connected to the console via said USB cable
