xbox one mic issues

MY MIC ON MY HEADSET WONT WORK. I HAVE TRIED 4 DIFFERENT HEADSETS, 4 DIFFERENT CONTROLLERS, 2 DIFFERENT CONTROLLER ADAPTORS AND BOTH MY XBOXS. ALL THE SAME RESULT, MIC NOT PICKING UP MY VOICE, SKYPE TEST CALL WONT PICK UP MY VOICE EITHER.
MY MIC ISNT MUTED ANYWHERE ON THE SYSTEM AND ALL THE CONFIGURATIONS SHOULD LET ME CHAT WITH PEOPLE IN A PARTY. STARTED ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO AND CANT FIX IT, I HAVE ALSO RESET BOTH XBOXS.PEOPLE CANT HERE MY SON UNDER HIS GAMERTAG EITHER. THE RING ROUND OUR NAMES
DONT LIGHT UP WHEN WE TALK YET THERE IS A HEADSET SYMBOL SHOWN ON THE SCREEN, NEVER HAD AN ISSUE BEFORE AND HAVENT CHANGED THE SETUP IN ANYWAY.

I have had similar issues. Update your controller firmware.
A new update was released recently. Use the USB play/charge cable method when updating the controller with the adapter connected. You will have to do this with every controller.

Try using earbuds and mic from a phone to test when plugged into a controller adapter not the 3.5mm plug of the controller.

Hi,

Sign yourself in as usual, plug your mic in and then try this:

Go to the home screen
Select your little profile icon at the top left next to notifications
Select Choose This Person on your profile

Test it in a party with just yourself in, you should see the green blip light up if it's picking up your voice.

I've done all that, I have tried every solution presented on the internet. Its driving me nuts, having to chat on the xbox app and its driving me crazy why this has happened.
