Xbox One mic fault

My other controller doesn't have the same jack for the headset to be inserted in therefore I'm not sure if it is a controller fault. I will follow the steps on the web link you provided and see if it makes a difference.

could be an issue with your controller. the port that you plug your headset into is not actually soldered to the pcb board, it is known as a press fit. also the the pins in the headset port that make contact with your plug tend to lose their ability to
make contact with the plug. if you rage quit and throw or beat your controller you can make it lose contact, or if your are hard on the plug you and bend the pins inside, also old age or repetition can cause problems. I would advise getting a turtle beach
chat adapter, they are around 14 to 20 dollars depending where you buy them from. they give you audio functions like party and game audio at your fingers. it also automatically corrects alot of problems you may have with headsets such as buzzing or echo

My mic sometimes starts acting funny until i perform a hard reset. Might be worth a try.

Yeah I've been recommended to buy an adapter but I didn't know if it would actually make a difference. My first instinct was that the controller might be broken as I've had it for a while now (maybe like 5 years ish) so is it normal that the pins become
loose after that time?

will anything be lost if I try this?
