    Xbox One MFR Date vs SERVICE Date


    Quick question that I am having trouble getting an answer to. Does anyone know the difference between Service Date and Mfr Date?

    On the back of one of my consoles it has on the S/N sticker MFR Date and a date in September 2013. On the back of another Xbox One console (that I got from a swap with Microsoft), it says SERVICE Date and has a date in January 2014.

    Anyone know the difference? Does service date mean it's a refurb or remanufactured?

    I bought a secondhand console and it says SERVICE DATE where MFR is supposed to be. What does this mean?

    Xbox One MFR Date vs SERVICE Date

    As with most companies, If they can't fix your console, or it would take too long to fix, they will send a refurbished as a replacement. The only time you would receive a brand new Xbox is if they didn't have any refurbished models in stock.

    Same would go for controllers, Kinect etc.

    You will still have the warranty you had with your original purchase, and chances are the case outer shell will be brand new.

    so are you suggesting it means refurbished? because i paid money to get a brand new unit from microsoft.
