Xbox One Messaging Showing 1 Unread when there are no messages.

Since buying and starting up my Xbox One I have had a unread message warning in my Xbox messaging app. I have checked both online profile and verified there were no friend requests pending and have deleted all messages from the app. Each time I login to
the Xbox One or access the Xbox app from Windows 10, it shows that I have 1 unread message when I do not.

I am a bit OCD and this is causing anxiety.

Thanks for posting! Let's start off by
removing your Xbox Live profile from your Xbox One and then sign back in. Due to what was described, this notification may persist for brief amount of time until it falls off. I would I also check if you have any long running conversations and scroll through
just incase that may clear that notification out.

My Xbox one as well the desktop and phone apps all show that there is a pending message but nothing shows up in the inbox. I'm assuming the issue was caused when I deleted a message before clearing the notification by receiving it fully upon entering the
message. As it is now deleted, I have no way of clearing the notification which is quite an annoyance. Please advise.

 

Hmmm. I had the same issue what i did was it was a 360 message that never got fully received by the xbox one message box i'd check my 360 read any messages and try it from there. if the home doesn't update just press the RT-LT and Y buttons simultaneously

but there is nothing to read or delete. For an OCD guy like me this is kind of annoying. Microsoft please provide some guidance for how to fix this. Thanks.

Does a message show up for you when you check your Xbox Live messages here on Xbox.com? If not, let's have you

try removing your profile on your Xbox One and add it back to see if there is any change.

No messages show up on Xbox.com either. Per your advice I removed my profile from the Xbox One and then re-added it. This was not successful at solving the problem. It seems that the error is directly linked to my Xbox account and this "ghost" message will
not got away unless resolved at that level.

Do you know, approximately, how long your account has been showing that unread message?

 

I've been having this same problem for months. It's extremely frustrating and if anyone has found a solution to it I would greatly appreciate it.
