    Xbox one message ban


    When trying to send a message online I keep getting the message "Because of your past behavior, you will not be able to send any messages." my account was created two days ago and during that time I haven't sent any messages of any
    kind to anyone.

    It's not a permenant ban but those that have received a retail console early and connected it to the net have had it banned.

    Today i received an email that my account from permanently banned. I went onto the link that they posted and it turns out i got banned for soliciting etc. I submitted a case review and went looking for more information. Most suspensions/bans are 1,7, or 14 days and my type of suspension followed under that list but then it said something about if the action was egregious or excessive bans, it could lead to a permanent one. In my case i tried selling my og gamertag, the guy messaged me about it, i told him how much and what payment. He declined, i said ok, and then we didn't message again AND no personal info was transferred, so in my defense it was not egregious. I have only had 2 ENFORCEMENTS, a good reputation, and no consecutive or reappearing issues. I do not think that deserves a permanent ban from all my years of gaming and achievement i have earned. There is clearly a flaw in the system.

    Check enforcement.xbox.com to see if you have a communication ban on your account.

    Can't play online

    If you get a console suspension you would see one of two messages depending on what type of console you have.

    These are the messages that you would see copied from the enforcement teams website:

    Xbox 360:

    “This console has been banned for violations of the Terms of Use. To protect the Xbox Live service and its members, Microsoft does not provide details about console bans. There is no recourse for Terms of Use violations.”

    Xbox One:

    “Your console is banned. This console has been banned for Terms of Use violations. To protect the Xbox service and its members, Microsoft does not provide details about specific console bans. For more information out console bans,
    visit xbox.com/xboxone/consoleban.”

    If you do not see one of these messages when you try and do something that requires live then your console is NOT banned.

    Communication Ban

    If the message you sent was trying to insult the other player, in one way or another, the Xbox Guidelines explains that it could be a reason to be reported and get a temporary or permanent ban, depending on the kind of message. You could see the xbox support

    Banned twice for this one message ?

    The enforcement team does not use the forums. The only way to contact enforcement is via the case review process on enforcement.xbox.com. As these are 24hr suspensions there is no case review option unfortunately.
