XBox One Memory Test

Hello,

Does XBOX One, or an application for XBOX One offer a Mem Test App? I have a few apps that use a lot of memory like Forza Horizon 3 and it seems after I've played it for a time, the game will crash and take me back to the XBox One Dashboard. I don't have
this problem with many other games, but if I run a music app, and play a game, it will happen with other game titles as well.

Any ideas, thoughts?

Xbox connects to xbox live after re plugging the power supply

If I may ask -- what does the connection test result in? Does it show a good connection to Xbox Live? Also, are you using the same account on multiple consoles? Do you use the memory device (hard drive or flash memory) on other Xbox consoles?

When you run the Test Xbox Live Connection test, what's the result?

Also suggest

1) prepare a USB Flash Memory drive as a Memory Unit for the XBox

2) Delete your profile - profile only

3) Clear system cache 3x { Settings | System | Storage | move over hard drive | press yellow (Y) button | Clear System Cache

4) Redownload the profile to the Memory Unit - does it still fail? If so, you will need to move any offline game saves to the Memory Unit then reformat the hard drive and redownload its content as its logical structure may be corrupted.

Yes, some resourse monitor would be useful.

I'm very suspicious to background stuff like music while running a game. When online I get stuttering in some games, and never when I play offline. X1 is not up to more than games in many cases. If I had problem like you - I would stop using that.

Background stuff is not that well made, as I see it. When going into games&apps - and shift tabs on the left, you quite often have to wait a second or so for one tab to finish loading until you get to next one. That is very simple programming in my view
- not leaving online task readings in separate thread asyncronously to what you do in GUI - very poor style.

Unless there is a hardware fault with your console, it won't be an issue with memory usage. The Xbox One has 8GB of RAM, of this, 5GB is reserved for Games, and 3GB for system and apps use. No game can access the other 3GB. So no matter what background
app you have running, it won't make the system run out of memory.

Either your console has a serious hardware issue with game crashing or it has an issue with the power supply. Make sure you plug your console directly into the wall socket or a known working power adaptor that is not overloaded or faulty and does not have
a surge protector. Surge protectors can cause the console to become unstable. Same goes for a faulty power adaptor.

Thanks for the update, that’s helpful.

That RAM test result basically confirms it: you’ve got a hardware issue. If Windows Memory Diagnostic is detecting failures, then that alone is enough to explain the crashes, game instability, and BSODs.

If anything, you can power down, pull all RAM sticks out, and boot the machine with just one stick at a time. Run the memory test again after each. That’ll help identify if just one module is faulty.
