Xbox One Media Remote - Pop-up/ Start Menu buttons do not work during Blu-Ray playback

The pop-up button and 'start' (menu) button do not work during blu-ray playback when using the new Xbox One Media remote (infrared). All other buttons work (play, pause, fast forward, etc) and I have a clear line of sight to the Xbox One unit and Kinect.

These buttons work fine on my normal Xbox One controller, which leads me to believe they were not programmed to work with the Xbox One media remote before it hit retail. Please fix this ASAP, as it defeats the purpose of buying the remote.

    :)

Media Remote Menu Button During DVD/Blue-Ray Playback

While playing a DVD or Blu-Ray on my Xbox One the menu key (3 lines stacked on each other) on an XB1 controller will bring up the DVD/Blu-Ray Menu. The same button on the new media remote does nothing during DVD/Blu-Ray playback. Is this a bug with the remote?
Do I have a faulty remote? Is anyone else experiencing this?

    Thanks!

The menu button on the xbox one media remote does not work in the blu ray app. It will not pull up the blu ray dvd menu. The menu button on the gaming remote will pull up the blu ray menu. Can you notify me when this is resolved. The menu button does work
every where else except in the blu ray app.

    I couldn't agree more!

This really needs a fix, that was the sole reason why I bought the media remote.

  5. Mmmhmm very disappointed the remote doesn't allow pop up menu or menu.

These are ESSENTIAL buttons for DVD and Blu-Ray DVD playback.

  6. OMGOSH you guys!

I made a little progress. Ok, so the share and option buttons don't do a dang thing on the media remote during playback. (Please fix this Microsoft)

But! If you press the pause/play button you will see the play, fast, back menu pop up on screen.

To the far right you will see three white fullstops/periods "..."

Navigate with the media remotes buttons to this ... icon and click it with the middle button on the remote.

THIS, brings up a menu which shows menu, subtitles on/off, subtitles, pop-up menu and more!

It's not ideal, but it's at least something to make the remote a little more useful.

While the method above can be used to display the dvd menu it still can't be used unless I'm missing something.

Pausing does indeed bring up the "Player Menu" and I can navigate to the ... then select pop up menu to display the DVD's menu.

However the Player Menu remains open on top and retains focus so the remote does not control the DVD menu and I can't find a way of closing the Player Menu again??

I honestly can't comprehend why they would even think of making a "Media" remote with out a dedicated menu button!!

Media Remote Menu Button During DVD/Blue-Ray Playback

According tho Xbox Support on twitter there is no way to open a DVD/Blu Ray menu during playback using the Media Remote, suggestion was to use the XB1 controller for this functionality. Which, funny enough, is exactly why I bought the media remote so that
I don't have to use the XB1 controller for controlling my media.

Sounds like they are working on a solution.
