Xbox One Media Remote Issues

I've noticed that since the new update to the Xbox One in August that the Xbox One Media Remote no longer functions as normal.

The Xbox One no longer recognises the long press of the home button on the media remote to activate the Power Off menu. It also doesn't function at all in the menus when you switch on the Xbox One via voice command with Kinect.

Is anyone else having this issue other than me?

I have done a full power cycle of the Xbox One (Not set to Instant On) and also checked the batteries in the media remote and they are all working.

Could adding an IR Sensor solve the issue of the media remote? Im moving my xbox into a data cabinet in my hallway but love using the media remote

Thank you for replying. I have followed the steps in the troubleshooting guide that you have linked for me. The issue I'm having is with step one on the instructions of how to use the Media Remote.

1. Power on/Home button. This button will turn on your console with a single touch.
When the console is on, hold this button for 3 seconds to turn off the console.

This is the issue I am currently having. The bold section above no longer operates as described or at all, no matter how long it is held.

 

Hey Chimovski! Is the remote working besides that issue? I would suggest angling the remote 45 degrees up or down to try and clear any interference the remote may be getting. Post back and let me know!

 

Everything else is operating as desired Mr Cizl. I've even held the remote 1 metre away from the front of the Xbox One and still no luck. All was working fine before the newest console update

Still no luck Mister Cizl I have noticed however that it isn't only the Xbox guide button that won't activate as a hold. All the buttons don't function as a hold feature, even the volume buttons. It senses the first push then the backlight on the media
remote shuts off and the hold function, on any button pressed, does not work.
