Xbox One Media Remote Functionality YouTube App

I just bought the Xbox One Media Remote today. I wanted to see how it worked so I tried a bunch of apps. The first I tried was YouTube. I was very disappointed to realize that other than the "page up/down" button was he only button that functioned with the
app. I could not use the up/down/left/right arrows as I could with any other app. I could not press the "Ok/Select" button to play a video. Once I figured out I had to use page up/down to select a channel page, I could not go Left or Right to select a video
to play either. The YouTube app needs an update to work properly with official Xbox Accessories. Microsoft should be testing these products before having someone pay $25 just to find it doesn't work correctly with the only this it can work with.

Audio CD Player & Media Remote

I have the same issue. Please add Xbox one media remote functionality to the CD player app. I hate having to go to Xbox one controller for this basic functionality. CD player is a media component...thanks

 

Do you use your volume button sending the ir signal to your tv with Youtube? If so, does it work?

 

I have the same problems, can't use this remote on YouTube - but it works on Netflix but haven't tried other apps as I'm not a fan of having too many apps.

I pre-ordered this a while ago and now I wish I hadn't - I should've wait till price have drops, or read other people's reviews, etc before I buy - can't trust these companies anymore!

Please fix asap

 

Does it at least control blu-ray/dvd playback on the system?

 

Update: as far as volume: works correctly on all apps thankfully. It controls Blu-Ray as well. In YouTube the only buttons that function properly are the home button (X), volume up and down, and for some reason the channel up/down works for selecting channels
but once your at the preferred YouTube channel you cannot press leff or right to select a video to watch nor can you press OK/Select to play the video. However, when switching to controller and selecting a video and playing it, once the video is playing the
remote does work for pause, play rewind, forward as it does in any other normal working app. Other than YouTube, everything works fine. I do wish it had a dedicated SNAP button. I do not know if it works on FXNOW because I have version and they haven't added
it as a carrier but most likely it does.

you are right .. it seems the xbox youtube app isnt quite compatible with the xbox one media remote

*Cough... microsoft please add this issue to your fix list

 

I am also having the same problem, the media remote does not work with the You Tube or CD Music Player apps. It does work with other apps I have tried, i.e. Netflix, Amazon, Hulu...

I know the You Tube app was just updated to support uploads, but the media remote still does not work. I would be nice for Microsoft to acknowledge the issue and let us know they are working on a fix.
