Xbox One MEdia Player Playback speed is too fast

Hey there, BalloonDegree13! I'm sorry to see any issues with playback! Hopefully we can nail down what exactly you are seeing here.

First, what all have you done troubleshooting wise? This will keep me from posting things that you have already done.

Along with that, I'd like to know where you are doing the playback from. Are you using Play To from your PC, a DLNA device, or are you using an external hard drive?

Windows Media Player already installed in Windows 7 (or a free download if you have the N version). Xbox One Media Player to play that content. You can control all playback functions with Kinect.

Alternatively purchase NAS with built in media server. Use Xbox One's Media Player to playback content. Use Kinect to control playback.

Buy a media remote if you don't have Kinect.

You seem to be adding needlessly complex steps to your media playback.

Having the same problem with media player on my Xbox One S playing .mp4 files off of a 2TB drive, exactly as described by "NeutronOverload".

I switched over to ACG player for now which is only ok-ish. The ads are slightly annoying, popping up only once during binge play, but playback is better than VLC, (the contrast issue)

I hope an update fixes this issue with media player soon.

to Reaper : many people with fibre optic have this problem. your speeds are too fast for some people's connection. playing over xbox you send data packages to the other player, but if that player has a low internet speed it'll take longer for you to get
his packages therefore you shoot paper bullets for 1 or 2 seconds, or just aslong it takes for his internet to responce or the other way around. having a too high speed isn't that good over the xbox.

Netflix, Lovefilm and xbox video all suffer with frame jumps and jitter for me too. Every single machine and console I have going through my AV RECEIVER plays smooth as butter from all these same things, blu ray player, ps3 and 360 etc but the xbox one
is currently unusable as a media player and the only thing that can't manage smooth video playback. I've even started imagining it in the Ryse cut scenes now but I think that more being paranoid and looking for it.
