    Xbox One Media Player - Fail


    Why is Xbox One Media Player performance so terrible? In the Xbox 360 days I could play music and stream my photos like a champ! In the Xbox One this App is trash. Usually can't even find my picture content over my WiFi; and if it does by chance find my
    media streaming it is a 50/50 shot. I have some large photo albums 500-1000 pictures and can't start a slide show from the middle of an album, not to mention navigation to 100's of albums in takes minutes. Furthermore can't seem to stream music and photos at
    the same time.

    Such a disappointment.

    Add to that the Media Player's inability to display any photos taken in portrait orientation. Just showing me the middle section of a photo without the ability to zoom out is pointless.

    Hey Michael,

    Thanks for your response! If your NAS supports DLNA, the Xbox One will be able to play media using the

    "Media Player"     application. Simply open Media Player, allow it to detect the server on your network, browse your media, and play!

    Windows Media Player already installed in Windows 7 (or a free download if you have the N version). Xbox One Media Player to play that content. You can control all playback functions with Kinect.

    Alternatively purchase NAS with built in media server. Use Xbox One's Media Player to playback content. Use Kinect to control playback.

    Buy a media remote if you don't have Kinect.

    You seem to be adding needlessly complex steps to your media playback.
