Xbox One Media Player can't see files on Windows Media Server

I have two xbox ones, one in my basement and one in my bedroom. The xbox one in my basement can see and play files on my Windows Home Server media server just fine, but my Xbox One in my bedroom can see the media server but says that there are no files or
content on it. I can't see where any of the settings on my bedroom xbox one are any different from the one in my basement and every other device in my home can see and play content from my media server so I don't *think* its a permissions issue. I even went
as far as doing a factory reset on my bedroom xbox one but it didn't help. I'm at a loss here so any help/tips would be appreciated.

    :)

    Xbox One Media Player HELP!

I have two xbox ones, one in my basement and one in my bedroom. The xbox one in my basement can see and play files from my Windows Home Server media server just fine, but my Xbox One in my bedroom can see the media server but says that there
are no files or content on it. The settings on my bedroom xbox seem to be setup for streaming and every other device in my home can see and play content from my media server so I don't *think* its a permissions issue. I even went as far as doing a factory
reset on my bedroom xbox one but it didn't help. I'm at a loss here so any help/tips would be appreciated on what I might have forgotten to do.

edere File Video su Pc sulla Xbox 360[Translation-E.O. Video Files on PC on Xbox 360]

The Xbox (and other media devices) don't access your media files directly. Instead they use something called DLNA, which requires your PC to have indexed your media library.

Then only the index is read by the Xbox (or other media players), and according to that index, you choose the files to play.

If you moved files around, or the index became corrupted, the Xbox can't find the media files anymore.

Please start the Windows Media player on your PC, and check that in that Media Player library, your media files are shown and are working correctly.

If the Media Player can't locate your media, the Xbox 360 can't get to the media as well.

    Media Files Not Found

I'm having the same problem. I was working up until a few weeks ago and now nothing. Media Player sees my Windows 7 machine, but when you open it you get files not found. I've tried rebuilding the libraries and even reinstalling Media Player 12 but still
nothing. I'm currently using Plex media server on the PC but that seems to be 50/50 as to whether is shows up at all in the Media player app.

This is further complicated as my 360 also shows the PC but also can't find any files. I'm 99% certain the issue is Windows media sharing related but can't nail down what or why. I've been through the usual disabling firewalls, checking allowing media streaming
    is enabled in MP12.

Media Player Not showing MKV files.

What media server are you using to stream to the XBox One? I have tried Plex, XBMC, TVersity, TWonky and even Windows Media Player and the xbox one sees the servers and folders but says they are empty. Just wondering if' I'm not using a supported DLNA server.
    HELP Please.

    Media Player

Plex Media server has a Mac version, and works great for me (Even though I am using the windows version of the program. This sets up a simple DNLA server without needing Windows Media Player. Plus it will create a nice and handy view for your digital movies
including; Movie Poster, Actors, Directors, Rating, etc.

You don't need to use the Plex App on the Xbox one either, just use the Media Player app. The only caveat, is you can't use subtitles, doesn't matter if it's a separate .SRT file, or an .MKV file with subtitles encased in it.
