Discus and support Xbox One Media Player App Alphabet in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Discussion? Support? Both!     Xbox One Media Player App Alphabet


    Discussion? Support? Both! I think that it would be a GREAT idea for the media player for XBOX One to have an alphabet at the top or some other way that you can quickly and easily select the Movie/TV show you want to watch from a large selection on an
    external hard drive. I have quite a few movies and it takes some time to scroll through all of them in order to find the one that I would like to watch. Like other media players there should be an alphabet on the top of the screen that you can select a letter
    that will take you to that part of your drive. Thoughts?

    I can tell you how do it. Others may be able to give you a better way.
    Enable media sharing in media player. Download a upnp/dlna app (I use one for android called bubble upnp, it's great) for your smart phone or tablet. Use the app to browse the media on your computer and push it to the xbox one.

    Play To disappearing

    The only problem with using the Media Player is that my videos are on two separate hard drives. I have them separated into folders using letters of the alphabet for each folder and the N-Z folders are all symlinked from the Video folder to their locations
    on the second drive. The Media Player won't see the symlinks at all so I can't access half my video library from the Media Player. I can play them from Play To, however it'll drop out from time to time, usually if I reboot the media server and the Xbox is
    still on. It's annoying.

    So do i and streaming works fine.

    I had to allow streaming to xbox one in windows media player then leave windows media player and the media player app on x1 running for a few minutes before it started working.

    Sorry to hear about the Media Player app issues, I can definitely understand how frustrating that could be. There was a recent service alert that my have caused issues if you were trying to install the Media Player app, but this issue has been resolved.
