Xbox One massive problems with external hard drive, and games.

Ok, I talked to xbox on the phone and on chat, both did not help. My issues started happening 4 days ago, where a game would not load or would freeze. Then the game would say i need to install it and have it say "ready to play". But the games were already
installed. I tried a different game, same thing. Tried a digital game, same thing. So i uninstalled them, tried to reinstall them. Instantly it said "installation stopped" so i tried again and it did the same thing again. Internet was perfectly fine. Xbox
One was lagging itself, but not the internet. So I turn xbox off, unplug everything for a few minutes and plug in and turn on. Still not working. Now my external hard drive is not being read, so i tried turning xbox off, unplug hard drive, plug in and turn
on. it read it, then went away. then same thing, this time it did not read it. So then i turn it all off, unplug everything from everything and wait a few hours. come back and now my hard drive is not showing up as the name i gave it, saying it is full when
it is a 2 tb and has no games on it. Now all my games must be installed again which is over 500g easily. Also the games trying to install are still stopping by themselves. So now I can not download any game without it stopping or risking it to stop at like
90% after hours and hours or days of downloading a single game. I tried updating the xbox offline, still did not work. Nothing had worked and this is annoying. So if anyone knows what is going on please tell me, I would like to enjoy xbox.

Western digital external hard drives

Anybody else having problems with their xbox one not recognizing their external WD hard drive?

As an idea for xbox one hard drives because they are internal and not external try plugging in an external drive to save or transfer all important games to external hard drive and leave not so important games onto internal drive
that way you can take them anywhere and not have hard drive failures with xbox one.

Lets try a hard reset alright. Follow the step by step tutorial below.

1) Hold the Power button on the console for 8 seconds until power off.

2) Remove the external drive and unplug the console from the power brick.

3) Wait the average 5-6 minutes before plugging it back in.

4) Plug it all back in and turn the system on before plugging the drive in again.

5) Check your settings - System - storage and see if it appears there If it does reformat it to run NTFS.

There is a possibility that there is either a connection issue with your external hard drive or somehow the external drive is corrupted. One possible solution is to uninstall the game and then reinstall the game. Try installing the game on only the internal Xbox hard drive to see if that fixes the problem. Also, try launching other games on your external hard drive to see if how those games are functioning normally.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear that the issue is persistent on the External Hard Drive.

Have you tried connecting the hard drive to a PC?

Does the PC recognize the external hard drive?

Does the external hard drive meet the specifications for the Xbox One?

If the problem persists, I recommend to try a different external hard drive on the Xbox if possible. One thing we want to make sure, Are the ports on the Xbox One functioning?

I am having trouble with my external hard drive on my xbox one and ever since that new update my xbox one wont recognize that my external hard drive is plugged in I have tried the trouble shooting steps and nothing seems to work and my external hard drive
is a 3.0 Toshiba external drive is this problem going to be fixed before its released to the general public because I want to play my games that are saved to that drive can anyone tell me if this problem is even being looked into at all
