    Xbox One mandatory apps


    Xbox One mandatory non system apps that are not needed to keep your console functional , such as social media apps are being installed without my permission . The latest being Events Beta and to my knowledge it is still in beta form . I had thought that
    it was the insiders that were beta testers . Thinking a mistake had been made I quickly called support to have it removed as it was reinstalling after I removed it . After a few days I was contacted by support only to inform me that the beta app is a default
    and can not be removed . Is there a way I can request a social app be removed . Facebook was able to be removed is this any different

    Thanks for the info I just cant get my head around having to pay for a product that at the end of the day the only control I have is to not use it. Build a console for gamers who want to play games , that is why I brought an Xbox to play games . It
    was not so I had to see things that I hate plastered over the things I used to love

    you only own the hardware, microsoft can add or remove apps and software as they please as you agreed to that when signing in. Not a lot you can do, if you disagree with it then you have the option to not sign in and keep the unit offline.

    There will no longer be a mandatory DRM on the Xbox One. Their DRM policy is now the exact same as the Xbox 360's. There is also no more mandatory online check-in on the Xbox One.

    if its a play anywhere title & u've downloaded it on PC, playing on PC then yes u can.
