Xbox one making weird noise

Recently received the Madden 15 bundle and the Xbox makes this buzzing/whinning noise. The weird thing is that the noise seems to only be audible when idling on the dashboard and/or if running an app. If I load up a game the noise completely stops. Also
if I have a game running in the background and idle on dashboard or run an app the noise isn't audible. Very strange, already tried hard reboot and unplug from outlet.

My new Xbox s fan is making a weird noise. Xbox is not messing but fan is making noises. Any comment?

 

My disk tray is making noises when loading a disk and when it is fully playing

you may have a loose connection or the fan could be a little warped. Could have been one of those lucky people to get the great FedEx/UPS guy that loves to kick his shipments before dropping them off.

 

i panicked at this the other day till i realized it was my spare pad i left on top vibrating

 

I second the fan theory. When the system is somewhat idle, the fans most likely slow down, allowing you to hear the noise of the issue. When you game, the fans would be going full blast as that is a more intense usage of the XB1 and the sound may go away.

Some notes:

• You could wait a few days and see if it goes away. I had this issue on a prior XB1 and it left and came back a few times but never last more that a little while.
  
• If it persists, contact: https://myservice.xbox.com unfortunately they can only do a hardware exchange.

The fan theory does make sense. But this does not sound like a noise a fan would make. It's more of a electrical buzz or whine if that makes any sense. Kind of like a old computer would sound when it was writing stuff on to the hard drive but just a bit
more intense and high pitched.

I was reading up on some forums and it seems that a lot of people have had this same issue specifically with kinect less versions of xbox one. It's supposedly the gpu making the noise when it's at a low power state and it seems many Xbox ones are affected.

 

Is it more like a Nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah or a Hm-hm-hm-hm-hm-hm-hm-hm?

 

It's a constant noise not one that has breaks in it. A low pitched buzzing sound. Only goes away when a game is loaded.

 

I purchased the Madden bundle and the first one I had made a buzzing noise too. It was VERY annoying and even made the noise when just sitting on the home page. I returned it and the second one is almost dead silent. Definitely return it if yours is making
a buzzing noise...

 

Received a exchange unit from amazon and this one's even louder than the first one. Same exact sound but louder. I have no clue what to do next.

 

I did an exchange recently via MS and got a brand new unit with a manufacturing date that was 3 weeks old. May want to try MS.

 

Hey shadow how were you able to get a new console? I spoke to Microsoft and they gave me 2 options. Either they repair my console or I can choose the advanced exchange program in which I would receive a refurbished console.
