Xbox One makes a squeak squeak sound about once a second.

Hello!

I sent in my Xbox for warranty repair, because it makes this squeaking sound like something mechanical is spinning without enough lubricant. I paid the shipping to send it in to Microsoft for repair, but they sent it back with a letter saying that they couldn't
find anything wrong. Have any of you found this issue? Or is this normal/I'm stuck with this sound?

Loud Xbox One

Recently, for about the past 2 weeks, my Xbox One has been making a high pitched noise in repitition of 3, so like "squeak, squeak, squeak... Squeak, squeak, squeak..." Etc. It does it constantly but will occasionally go off then come back. Does anyone know
what to do about this?

 

Elite Controller Faceplate Squeaking

As the title suggests my Xbox One elite controller has randomly started to squeak. I last used it over 24 hours ago and since then has randomly started to squeak, it never made any noise or feel used before. I can press down on the face of the controller
by the right thumbstick and it'll make a loud audible squeak and I can feel the plastic move as if there's a space that shouldn't be there. When in my hands it feels like a rumble as the slightest twist movement makes it squeak. Using the triggers makes this
rumble squeak sensation and it's so distracting to the point where I can't concentrate on the game because of this.

Is there anyway I can fix this? Any way I can just force the plate back into place or tighten the screws as I know Microsoft's Warranty has long gone with me as I've had the controller since their release in October last year with no faults up until today.

Anyhow just a thought, I hope it all works out for you.

In shipping several reports have identified that poor handling has caused internal shifting of the components such as wires/cables and they tend to come in contact with moving components

(Ex. Cables wires hitting DVD player or fans).

I have read on this site, (Back on day-one) a member (while initially powered OFF) turned the XB1 upside down, powered it ON at the p/b then placed a DVD in the tray. When the laser moved it fell into proper position, resulting in the noise going away???
(The laser unit actually had shifted slightly and was hitting something in the inside the casing, causing the noise.)

I would bet that handling during shipment or you the consumer has caused the same issues.

Several customers on here have had the same noise issues.

I have experienced MANY of the same complaints and I have been very fortunate to have worked through each problems. I have to thank the website here, the research from other people’s problems has helped me to correct my own. (Luckily without the need for
tech support or customer service)
