Xbox One losing internet connection every 5-10 minutes when trying to play online.

I know there's some similar posts to this already, but none of those solutions will work.

Basically we have two xbox one consoles in the house, both with a wireless connection, mine works perfectly no problem, but since a few days ago my brother's xbox has been losing internet connection every 5-10 minutes.

He tried GTA, COD and FIFA, and as soon as he tries to play online he gets kicked off after a few minutes. We've never had a problem like this before, even with the 360s.

I contacted both xbox live, and my isp(virgin media) who re opened the xbox live ports. Tried a hard reset/reboot, tried deleting and re-downloading his profile. Tried resetting the modem/router and the same thing happens.

Anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance!

100% Packet Loss

Exact same here, Ive been trying to play for 3 days but unable to due to losing connection. When you play GTA Online, does it let you play for around 1-5 minutes, then you get disconnected?

xbox one s-Every game I play on multiplayer loses connection host/server. why?

I have had my xbox one s since november 2017. Every game I play online loses connection to host/server after about 5 to 10 minutes of playing. I also have a xbox 360 that has no such problems when I play online. So I am assuming there is something wrong
with my xbox one s settings?

Have you tried using an ethernet cable to connect your brother's console to the net? If not, give that a try. If the problem persists then there may be an issue with the console itself that may need to be repaired.

Sorry for the late reply, the situation has improved a bit, some games seem to be playing fine, and a couple others will still kick him off the internet for a few minutes each times, GTA V seems to be the biggest problem. The xbox loses the internet connection
after a mere 5 minutes nearly every time.

As for the Ethernet cable, my modem/router is in an awkward place not near a television, so may have to invest in an extension cable of some sort to test it!

I've had a similar problem when playing the crew. I can play for 5 to 10 minutes and then I will disconnect from xbox live for about 5 seconds and then it will come back on again like nothing happened. I wouldn't be too fussed about this but every time I
lose connection to xbox live, I have to start the crew again because it is an online only game. Im unsure whether it is my router, xbox or the game that is the problem.

I bought my xbox in december of 2017. Thought the xbox one s woluld be better I like it but when I play gta 5 online I get online and in less the 1 minute I am kicked out because of internet connection when I have a good internet connection and it also
helps when I and connect to it with and ethernet cable to my router and xbox.
