XBox One loses wifi connection

Ports and your ISP usually don't have anything to do with a wireless connection failing, as the WiFi connection is only between your console and the router.

Is your console by chance enrolled in the Insider Preview Program?

While my Xbox One X works without issues via WiFi, the patch notes on some Insider Previews state that they are investigating cases with WiFi connectivity issues, and that people should report via the Feedback tool if their console loses WiFi connectivity.

It would help if you also said which WiFi router you are using, maybe there is an incompatibility between the Xbox One X and certain router models.

please note that if you are running 2 xbox on same network you should open up your ports in port triggering

Alright. After I made my post, I got desperate and tried a complete reset of my router, and maintained my connection to Live for hours with no hiccups. It seems I should have just kept trying to keep my solutions simple.

I know why my internet keeps disconnecting. What im saying is my controller disconnects when i lose connection. It will reconnect but on rare occasions it will not turn back on. Dont worry about the wifi part. All I need to know is if the controllers are
supposed to drop conneection and then reconnect when the xbox all of a sudden loses internet connection. I dont lose control of the wifi.

Thanks gds1972 - I'm not in the Insider program but I read the list of fixes in your link and notice WIFI connectivity problems are known issues. I will wait to see if the next update improves the WIFI connection stability.
