    Xbox One - Longer Shut down times


    Hi All,

    I really dont know whether this is an problem.

    On observation which i wanted to share with all, let me know your views...

    Since this particular update, i have seen Xbox taking a while to shut down. Earlier, the shutdown was pretty quick. However currently the white light blinks and goes off repeatedly for an extended time and then only xbox shut itself down.

    Although the process might have been the same, i think it never took long time..

    Requesting your observations/views on the same

    lOADING ISSUES

    Anu one having issues on games tgaking a real long time, so long that I have to shut the xbox one down and boot again. Doesn't seem to solve the issue. It does it with games I own like call of duty.

    Worried about the XBOX LIVE on Xbox 360 Shutting Down.

    No date has ever been given as to when or if xbox live for the 360 will be shut down.

    Considering backwards compatibility on the xbox one it's safe to say live on the 360 isn't going to stop for a long long time yet.

    Hey,

    I can't say mine is taking longer than it did before to shutdown, at least not consistently. That said mine will occasionally do the same as yours but in my opinion it's not cause for concern. At that point the console is performing a final sync with the
    cloud so it could take longer due to any number of factors more data to upload, network congestion, etc) but nothing to be overly concerned with.

    Will monitor this and let you know in case if there are any worst case scenarios..

    Live has been shut down for the original Xbox so it will no longer connect. Only a Xbox 360 or Xbox One will connect.

    Just making sure, you do mean an original Xbox, not a 360 or One? Live was shut down for the original Xbox years ago so it will no longer connect.

    Hi,

    The delay is generally for two reasons; the first is the console checking for any pending downloads, which with back ground downloads turned on would be carried out on shut down. The second reason is as other have suggested, simply the console cooling down
    – you’ll find that the longer the console has been on i.e. the hotter it is, the longer the shut down process will take.

    Try turning off background downloads to see if shut down times are reduced.

    I personally notice that my console shuts down faster in the winter (cold in my house) as it does not get as hot as it does in the summer.
