Xbox one locks up while watching Live TV through cable box when switching from SD channel to ...

I have AT&T U-Verse. I was having issues with not being able to watch TV in surround sound. If my cable box was set to surround, I could not watch SD channels. But NOW!! I FIXED IT!! I switched the cable box from the WIRED Motorola to the WIRELESS Cisco
box. and the Cisco cable box works flawlessly with the Xbox one. I have full surround, full 1080i, AND I am able to flip through the SD channels with without any freezing. So... if anyone one is listening... if you have AT&T U-verse, use the wireless, black
Cisco cable box on your Xbox one! NOT the grey Motorola boxes!

In order to display the SD versions of channels there is a setting on the Xbox One that you can toggle to display those in the OneGuide TV listings. While watching LiveTV press the Menu (old start) button to being up the menu and select settings. Then
go into the OneGuide and uncheck the Box that says "Hide SD Channel duplicates" After that the OneGuide will display both HD and SD versions of the same channel so if you want to watch it in SD you can. I do have one suggestion if you do this. On your Cable
Box go into the settings and select the output you normally watch TV at such as 720p etc. The reason for this is some cable boxes like to send out a new signal every time the user changes to a channel with a different native resolution and this forces the
Xbox One to examine the feed for 5-20 sec to make sure it is displaying it correctly. As far as your DVR question we do support various media controls while watching a channel by pressing A on the controller however a previously recorded show saved to your
DVR is something we are working on adding support for. In order to use the media controls with a cablebox that has DVR/Tivo capabilities it is very important that it is setup correctly under the TV devices.

Would be nice if there was a passthrough option. I have my Cable box set up to send SD channels in stretch and HD in Native to the TV. Now with the Xbox One, sicne it is doing a stretch again things still look fine and it adjusts between HD and SD, but
if I start the TV / Xbox with an HD channel on it shows in stretch until I manually go to an SD channel then back or go into the menu and change the setting.

Here is an issue I have specific to AT&T U-Verse. When I turn the surround on the cable box, I can ONLY watch HD channels. When I switch to a standard definition channel (Or it could be stereo channel?) my image freezes up. Can't watch it. I have to leave
my cable box on stereo sound in order to watch all my channels. In doing so, I can't watch any TV in surround!

How will it be unusable? You can connect your cable/direct tv box with the Xbox One. I assume in UK you have a physical box your tv programs run through(?) "Connect your cable or satellite box to Xbox One and watch all your favorite television
