Xbox one locked in china

Hello Guys,

I live in China and i just bought an Xbox to my nephew and sent back to him. Sadly, i says that it's locked and cant be activated unless in china,. Do you know if i is possible to unlock it? and if so, how can it be done ?

Question about Region Locked Console.

My cousin is visiting from China with a Xbox One China. I understand that it is region locked meaning it can't play any games bought in America. But can she play the xbox one games she got from china in america? (The console won't turn on.) --> Is this because
it is region locked?

China is a xbox support region you have to set it to china

Most xbox m rated or triple a titles are region locked

 

I thought the One X was region free and could be used in any country?

 

I believe due to Chinese trade laws, all Xbox One consoles sold in China are region-locked. It is only able to load games from the Chinese Xbox Store, only able to play Chinese-region games, and must be played while you're physically in China.

This is the only instance where Xbox One has a region lock, because otherwise it's region-free to the rest of the world.

I don't believe there is a way to remove the lock. You can have your nephew contact Xbox Support (choose phone or chat) and see if there is anything they could do about it, but there are no
guarantees there.
