Xbox One Live Gold Subscription being charged tax

Hi, I've suddenly been charged an amount of 104.86 on my monthly Xbox Live Gold subscription of Rs. 699.

The customer care executive suggested that I write to *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***. Now they want me, an individual home user, to provide them with Tax Exemption certificates.

Please help.

Charged $5 extra for Xbox Live Gold

A one-year subscription is $59.99. I bought a one-year subscription of Gold and they charged me $64.97. Was there tax added?

Charged Twice

Hi, I was charged twice for a yearly subscription to Xbox live for 59.99+tax in the same day. I cancelled my subscription for Xbox live and should be getting a refund. After doing so I don't have Xbox live but am being billed for having it. Due to being
charged twice only one of them will come off my bank statement. How can I cancel my subscriptions and get a full refund and purchase xbox live once and be billed properly for one payment?

I've removed the image of the email to protect your personal information since your email was listed in there.

This might be related to the recent price increases in India (based on the price and currency symbol you've provided). Tax might not have been included previously, and is now.

If you can, I would suggest working with the agent from the email to find out if India is indeed tax exempt for Gold purchases. Beforehand, I also suggest gathering anything from local laws that show you guys should be tax exempt.

Hi there. If you are on a 2 Year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract, and it is before the end of the two years, you are effectively canceling the subscription and will be charged an Early Termination Fee (see

support.xbox.com/.../early-termination-fee) and any applicable taxes. At the end of your two-year agreement, your account will not be renewed automatically. Auto-renewal is not activated to renew your subscription when the contract ends. If you aren't on
a 2 Year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract, you can contact an Xbox Support agent at

About the tax, it is only charged if you location charges tax for online purchases. Some states do not charge a tax if the company being bought from is out of state.
