XBox One Litany of Updates

My XBox One updates almost daily and the updates take almost 20 mins to finish. I am part of the XBox One preview program and don't know if that is the issue. I've selected automatic updates and it doesn't work the way I want it to. I would like my updates
to install during non peak hours. Let's say 3am to 5am. But when an update is needed there's a message that says "start update." I chose to update automatically so why do I need to manually update it. There has been many times when I'm nearing completion
of a mission in a game and blam an update is needed right before I finish. It's torture.

So I would like to know if there's an issue with my XBox or is it due to me being part of the xbox one preview. Like I said I've needed to update almost daily this past week and approximately 65% of the days in June and July. It's just pervasive. The
console requests updates at the most inopportune times. Also automatic updates does not mean automatic updates. Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone remember when the forums were fun and fast loading?

I love playing on my own and meeting new people online but I have noticed that no one, litany no one talks anymore it's like a bled ghost town. I remember getting my orginal Xbox set up for live with halo2 I was guaranted a good game with tons of people
from around the world. Just feels very stale to me past few years it's a real shame.

Have you changed the difficulty setting? Also... at the final boss battle, remember to use the Litany of Adralla (what you recovered from Niall's body after being in the Fade), as it helps. What class is your Warden, and have you upgraded your weapons? The
game is challenging, but can be beaten.

 

I'm having the exact same problem. I've set up my system to be Inst-on, so that it will update when not in use. It still asks for update everyday, in the middle of game play, when it's been on for a while. It's super irritating. I'm also part of the preview
program, I'm wondering the same thing.

 

Same here, eating up memory like crazy and yes I am in preview too.

 

Same as everyone above. It's really getting annoying!

 

The updates are because of being in the update program. That is part of testing beta software. If you don't want to get the updates you can opt out of the preview program.

 

What the hell is going on with all the updates? You all said one or two updates a week, I've now had a 400plusMB update everyday for the last week and a half. Get your act together. Stop it with all the *** updates. If your programming is screwy, you need
to start firing some people and hire people that know what they are doing.

 

Kinectamanic, if you don't want to receive the updates then you should opt out of the program. That is all part of testing beta software especially as the time for general release gets closer.

 

Putting out constant updates to test and fix beta software is completely necessary for MS as release to the general public gets closer. Although I can understand it can be a bit agitating, you voluntarily jumped into the program. That is the point of the
program. You get to see a bunch of interesting and cool new features before anyone else but you also have to remember it is not finished and is a work in progress, requiring constant fixing. Opt out if it truly ruins your gaming experience.

I have been with Xbox Live since the original beta playing Moto GP. I have opted into every preview program they have ever had and the last couple weeks it is getting to be a bit much. They really need to moderate when the updates hit, middle of the night
and handle it on their own. If we are going to get a 20-30 min update every night that can pop at any moment that is super frustrating and nothing like any preview program they have had before.

Just telling people to deal with it or hey dont sign up is ignoring the fact that this is beyond what they have done before and can be very frustrating. We all understand that being in this program means you get more updates than normal but I think they
could be handled in a much better way.

Just my 2 cents as someone who is well aware how beta software works.

 

Yes, I agree with U2NUMB (not only because we obviously like the same music). MS needs to get it together, I have no problem testing out the new features whether they are good or bad and sending feedback. But a 20 minute update on a daily basis is ridiculous.
I feel numb.
