Xbox One Left/Right audio balance is reversed

Not sure if this necessarily the right place, since I think it’s a sound bar issue, but figured I’d give it a go. Anyway, I’m housesitting for my parents and have noticed that when my XB1 is connected to their TV, the left/right sound balance is reversed (something will happen to the left of my character but I hear it from the right). Is there a setting on the XB1 to flip this so I don’t have to go playing with the sound bar? Sound bar is a Yamaha ATS 1070, if it matters.

Just swap the two phono input plugs around on the soundbar, problem solved.

As far as I am aware, there is no way to adjust the left/right balance at the moment. This could be a feature that is implemented in the future.

Alright. Be sure the headset volume isn't turned all the way down. The dial on the outside of the left earcup adjusts the audio balance between game and chat audio. Be sure the dial isn't rotated completely in one direction, as this will effectively mute either game or chat audio.

Try swapping the channels over, ie, changing the red/white audio plugs around to reverse the channel input.

If the sound then comes from the right earpiece then you know that there is a possible fault/poor connection somewhere.

If the sound still comes from the left then you know that there is a fault with the headset itself.

In fact the other option is to use the volume control on the wire then hold down the bottom left volume control until it beeps (thats the one with the player and the + sign) that will turn the balance from the pad so its 100% chat audio and no game audio,
then use the volume control on the TB wire to control game audio.

Not sure which will give better audio quality for in game audio or if theres any diff.
