Xbox one analogue stick too sensitive

Recently my left analogue stick has a mind of it's own when I switch on the xbox, if I'm flicking through the menus it will go too far to the right or left and not to what I selected which is really frustrating. If i'm on youtube for example and I go to the next video on the right it will go too far and vice versa, then all of a sudden it will work fine. Not sure how to fix the problem and I only have one controller, has anyone else experienced this?

I bought a slim xbox 360 controller to play Dark Souls on my pc, and I really like the controller, except for one thing, the left analog stick seems to be calibrated to be ultra sensitive. Even when I'm hardly putting any pressure on it at all in-game, it
still triggers. In this case, it makes the character start walking (rather than default running).

I tried calibrating but it looks like the analog buttons don't get calibrated since all it tested were the Z, X and Y axis, not how sensitive buttons where.

I'd love to either make this button much less sensitive, or disable it if need be (not disable the analog stick entirely, just the push-in aspect). Is this possible?

 

If anyone has any idea on what the problem is that would be great.

 

Anyone? It's really frustrating can't play any games because of it.

No I've had this controller since release.

 

There have been two separate controller updates (maybe 3) do you have a mini/micro usb cable you could use to connect the controller to the xbox ?

 

No I don't, how would I go about updating it? I was away for a couple of months so didn't get to play my xbox one, I hope I haven't missed out!

 

basically you need to buy or get a cable (i got one with stereo headset adapter and another with the recharge pack) double check the size online, but one side is a standard USB size and the other is either mini or micro. You will need this cable to do the
update.

Plugin to controller and one to one of the 3 USB ports (I use the side one on the left side)

Select update controller from the settings menu, it moved recently so can't remember where it is now, I think there is a whole new option for connected peripherals. Just follow onscreen instructions. I know it changed sensitivity settings and added stereo
through put, not sure what the last one did.

You can always double check in game sensitivity too, games like destiny allow you to increase it between 1 and 10 set it to 5 then work either way until your happy, i think i have mine set to 6.

 

Thanks a lot mate thats a big help, can you show me what that cable looks like i'm not sure if I might have it or not. It's not the one to recharge the controller is it?

Just updated but having the same problem! Tried to update again but it says all connected controllers are upto date.

 

It's going to be a replacement job, I've got the same problem but mine drifts up, phoned support and logged it as a repair, they send you a UPS return thing then when they receive it they send another out.

 

Oh great thats my weekend of gaming over with then! Thank mate, will give them a call now.
