Xbox One Leaking Oily Blue Liquid

This morning I discovered my Xbox One sitting on top of a puddle of dark blue, oily liquid which seems to have come from a crack that propagated from one of the pads that the Xbox One rests on (crack was not previously there). This liquid must have leaked
overnight as I would have noticed if the puddle was there before. At first glance I thought this might be a product of overheating, but I haven't actually used my Xbox One in about 3 days, so it had to have happened while the Xbox was in "sleep" mode (I have
the fast start-up option enabled). Moreover, it is completely isolated on my media stand with nothing around to hinder the ventilation.

I was hesitant to start the Xbox after finding this leak, but it hasn't seemed to affect the functionality - I can reach the main menu without any issues. I have, however, already chatted with support and requested a repair (although I believe a replacement
would be a better alternative as this is obviously a defective console).

Has anyone else had this issue? Is it indeed a known defect?

If the service centre can't repair the console you'll be sent a replacement at no extra charge or free if in warranty, so rest assured the issue will be fixed after you sent it to us for repair,

As far as I'm aware this isn't a known defect that loads of users are current having,

Even if it doesn't seem to affect the performance of your console, I wouldn't even have it plugged in. It's damaged, and by having it on, there are many risks involved. Even though it would be hard for me, I wouldn't touch the console until you get your
replacement console.

The original Xbox one and one s do not contain any liquids, the X has a sealed heatsink which contains a very small amount of liquid which very much doubt has leaked.

There is another post on these forums about something similar! But his whole console was covered with that white film. Someone responded and said it is very humid in the room where the console was so that's what was causing the white film.

look up "plasticiser evaporation". it's highly likely that microsoft contracted a supplier of cheap plastics for the initial wave of xbones and the plastic is prematurely turning brittle.
