  1. Xbox One latency

I have the highest possible download speed I can get where I live. I will add that I live in Canberra, the Capital City of Australia for those that don't know. We have fibre internet fitted with the highest download speeds we can buy. I get over 92Mbps download,
min of 16Mbps but usually 30 -40Mbps upload and between 7 and 27ms ping depending on which local server is tested. Why then do I have a 227ms ping on the Xbox? The answer is simple, the Xbox server is in Seattle and it simply takes a long time for information
to get there and back. I contacted Xbox who maintain it's my ISP and the ISP say they have no control over a Seattle server. My internet line has been reset, ports have been opened, NAT type is open, router has it's gateway things done and I even bypassed
it altogether at one point. The Xbox has been reset, cold restarted, erased and re-done and Xbox even replaced my console. (A refurbished scratched one I will add.) I have read forums, spoken to technicians and chatted to others who reside around the world.
The common thing remains, The server is located in Seattle and everyone who resides in the UK, South Africa and Australia are all experiencing lag issues. I have asked Xbox about this and I always get the same scripted, robotic response. "There is nothing
wrong with our server, you can check the status online." I am not suggesting there is anything wrong with it, it is just simply too far away from anyone else in the world to have a 'certified experience'. I don't know what the rules are in other countries
but I am pretty sure a company is not allowed to sell a product which does not do what it is designed to do. Microsoft seem to be out of their league with the Xbox One, it does not meet their own specifications as a game console for a 'certified experience'.
Maybe in the United States it does but it is an all too common issue around the rest of the world. I for one am going to get rid of this useless gaming console. I hope others that are experiencing the same issues do the same and if you are considering buying
one, "Don't". The only way these big companies will listen and fix other peoples issues is if consumers stand together and say "We won't put up with spending good money supporting a product that simply does not perform as it is intended.' Maybe then some extra
servers will be placed around the world so everyone can once again enjoy a gaming experience.

    :)

What is an acceptable latency on this game on Xbox One?

My latency constantly goes from around 40ms to to around 60ms in game.

    Data Center is neu (67ms)

  3. Detailed Network Stats

the xbox one latency issues are quite obvious with the current results im seeing posted. Hopefully this is patched soon but people want to be mainly around 80ms on latency or lower...next gen with old original xbox latency...nice.

Just because Seattle is where the speed test server is, doesn't mean that is where you're connecting to play a game, my X1 speed test normally shows 60-90ms, but if I connect to Titanfall it says my latency is 13-16ms, and I know there is a MS server farm
10 miles from my house that houses some Xbox Live servers, why they don't host a speeb test server at each farm is beyond me, but I do know that the current speed test server is not accurate.

  5. Thank you. This does clear up a little confusion. It is a shame then that Xbox and their game developers can't come together and provide a level playing field for all users.

@redwood I'm from OZ also and I have seen the test screen you are talking about. As zero said don't worry about it to much. When playing MP games the the Ping is localised to a server here somewhere for 1st party and some third party servers like ea's BF.
I'm at anywhere between 29-32 ping to the MS titanfall Australian server and I live 1hr west of Sydney in a very rural area with pretty poor ADSL+2.

  9. Thanks. I have heard that Titanfall is the game to play if you're in Oz.

Love the way you speak for all UK xbox owners. Sorry mate your way off beam. I don't experience any lag issues neither do any of my UK friends. So you rant a wall of text saying don't buy this and your getting rid of this useless console. Then voila
a few sensible reply with accurate information and that clears up your confusion. jeez.

And if im not mistaken MS actually activated a load of servers for you Aus gamers a month or two ago, sure that can be confirmed by Rippen or any other Aussies on here, so the "level playing field" comment is way off as well. So your research is pretty
poor and are you saying MS replaced your console with a scratched one because you sent it back because of "lag!"

Most people can't live right next door to a server. Despite them rolling out servers in Australia, I live in a big NZ city in the north island and I'm roughly getting the same ping results (averaging 170-230) as before they even rolled out the Australian
servers. Our household has Vodafone NZ Ultra Fast Fibre Cable Internet with 100mb/s down and 10mb/s up. The reality is not everyone can get good ping, but if you have Open NAT which I get, that's good. If you have good download and upload speeds and Open NAT,
that is all the basics you need to socialize and play on Xbox Live.

Xbox 1 says I average 170-230 ping, yet I can talk and play with my New Zealand, Australian, UK, Canadian, and American friends and players. Microsoft places servers around the world, not just the US or UK, but not every street suburb town or city can have
one. Our planet is big. Servers are expensive for Microsoft, they just can't plant some in every street. I do have to say that the Netflix servers are the best! No buffering and good picture quality. Netflix just came out in NZ and Australia earlier this year.

  14. You should consider yourself lucky. I only get 6mbps down and 1mbps up with ~100ms latency for ping, where I live in Florida IN the U.S.! I have no options for alternative ISPs, and that's the best I can get from my current ISP in this area. Unless I physically
move (which isn't even financially feasible since I'm a teacher) or a new ISP moves into the area or my current ISP starts to offer more options, I'm completely ***.

As is right now, I can't stream/broadcast with Twitch at all, can barely upload clips/update games (takes forever!), and have to coordinate with family regarding our activities since our network can only handle 1 or 2 things at a time (such as playing games
and/or watching an HD movie online) before completely crapping out. If any of my family tries to upload something (myself included), it virtually kills the entire network by slowing it down to a crawl for everyone involved. And all that? It's not even the
worst part - our ISP is overcharging us for "additional data usage" that they didn't used to charge us for before all of this net neutrality crap that's been going around lately. Our monthly payments went from $40/month to anywhere between $40-$100 every month,
which is just absolutely ridiculous, but the only alternative is no Internet at all!

You have no real reason to complain as others have pointed out for you (you didn't even mention anything about your games or media lagging, which would've been the real tragedy). You have it good - I WISH I had your connection.

  15. You are completely right. I apologise to you and anyone else I may have offended. My problem is certainly a first world problem and I meant no offence to anyone else's individual circumstances. I guess I am so frustrated with this issue and not being able
    to find a solution.
