XBox One Latency Issues

30/5 Mbits/s is fine for playing multiplayer games on your Xbox one.

When you test your Xbox One for basic IP connectivity (ping), those specific times when you're able to reach as high as 400 ms, if you then were to go to your computer and run pingtest.net's test against a test server located in Seattle, what is the outcome
of this test?

Afterwards, configure your Xbox One's network settings to use Google public DNS servers. These are the following addresses for Google public DNS.

Primary: 8.8.8.8

Secondary: 8.8.4.4

Have us know, if by changing DNS servers, has a positive impact to your latency, or not.

Yea, did all that. Even ran a test that will seek out best DNS servers to use in my area and none of this made a difference. Computer and or phone on same network has zero ping issues with connecting to Washington servers at the time Xbox one is. I have
been dealing with this issue since March. So in the last six months I have had about three weeks of non-laggy play. However when Xbox is connected to hotspot on AT&T phone latency is 130's. Oh and again last night my latency dropped to the 80's again at
1am. I know this because I ran the Xbox ones test over and over back to back from 7pm to 1am. Again too tired and ticked off to play and went to sleep.

In the past six months I've probably spent 20+ hrs on phone with Xbox support and isp providers. Nobody can figure it out, or if they can won't admit to it being in their end.

I have about the same problem here in Sweden an nobody seems to know how to deal with the problem. I hane wired internet 500 M/bit up and down. Ping on my computer 5ms and on Xbox one 170ms!

@lionking7001 - There's no problem, as far as your ping. This revolves around one simple fact and it has to do with distance.

If you were to go to your computer and change the location for a test node located in Seattle, WA (US), you would no longer see such low delay as 5ms towards this server. In fact, it is more likely that you would see delay that correspond with your consoles
delay.

Please keep in mind that testing your Xbox One for basic IP connectivity test, has one pre-configured IP address towards this one known server located in Seattle, WA (US). In comparison to pingtest.net, or speedtest.net, which by default are tests based
on best ping towards a link that has the lowest delay and lowest cost to reach the destination.

the xbox one latency issues are quite obvious with the current results im seeing posted. Hopefully this is patched soon but people want to be mainly around 80ms on latency or lower...next gen with old original xbox latency...nice.

I just did this last night and noticed a world of difference even though myping didn't change from the 60ms it was before I started.

If you haven't already then I would suggest that you start a fresh new thread with a detailed description of your situation, along with any troubleshooting steps you have tried so far.

Appreciate if you can also provide the outcome from
pingtest.net and change the location of the testserver to a server located in Seattle, WA, so you don't try and run the default settings, which is a test based on best ping.
